Kenny glanced at the wall for only a second in an attempt to catch the view of the clock. It was late, quite late actually. His shift should have ended by now but he was late and that worried him.

He wasn't the possessive type...not that he had any reason to be possessive. Viktor was just a friend after all but considering how he was out so late last night and now he was late from coming back just worried him. It got to the point where he was left sitting on the couch watching random late tv programs that he would never watch before. What was it now? Some sort of documentary? Who knows...

The click of the door caused the teen to perk up instantly and he glanced at the door just in time to catch the sight of Viktor as he entered. He looked tired, as one would be from working hard at a café, but when he saw Kenny and gave him a smile...well, it made all the worry vanish.

"Hey, how was work?" Kenny asked as he quickly went to turn off the television so he could put all his attention on Viktor. "Anything crazy happen?"

"Nah, not really." He said as he walked towards the couch and let out a sigh as he flopped down next to him. "Just...boring. Lots of cleaning. Janet was upset cause some guy just threw ice on the floor on her shift."

"Oh...yeah, that stinks..." Kenny muttered as he watched Viktor before letting out a small chuckle as he scratched the side of his face. "Ah, I didn't even realize how late it was. I was just up watching some stuff and got distracted."

Viktor glanced at him as he narrowed his eyes and caught the look on Kenny's face which caused the man to let out another nervous laugh.

"Yeah?" He asked him and Viktor shook his head in response before standing up with a grunt.

"Nothing. I'm just gonna...you know, take a shower and all that." He responded as he began to head down the small hall towards the bathroom. "You should head to bed."

Kenny watched him with a slight frown before nodding his head until he realized Viktor probably couldn't see it. "Ah, yeah! Bed...totally."

Once inside the bathroom and with the door locked tight did Viktor let out a deep sigh. His body collapsed onto the floor and he closed his eyes as rolled over with his back to the floor.

Last night...should have never happened. Everything about it felt like needles to his chest, and the more he looked at Kenny the more he felt like everything was just a lie he kept telling himself.

"So how's life after the Labs?" Aaron asked as he walked alongside Viktor with a wide smile. It was fairly late, and they were the only two people around it seemed...at least for now anyway.

"Hard. I didn't even know how to put on a shirt." Viktor said as he looked ahead of him. "But I guess it's getting better. Kenny has been helping me out a lot."

"Oh! That's great!" Aaron said as he glanced down at his feet. "Kenny...has always been super helpful. It's just so giving, in more ways than one."

"What's that supposed to mean?"

"Well, you know..." Aaron looked at Viktor and blinked in surprised when he saw those red eyes staring directly at him. It got to the point where he even stopped talking. "Listen, I'm his friend so I'm not a judger by any means of what he does but like...Kenny has a front."

"What does that even mean?" Viktor asked as he narrowed his eyes.

"Like...he's lying to everyone and himself. I know his true self and trust me when I say it ain't all that pretty. The Kenny you've been hanging around with is just a costume he made up." Aaron said as he shrugged.
