A short, brown haired Savana sat on the couch with Elise in what little lap she had. In the last four months, her stomach nearly doubled in size. She felt like she was carrying twins, but ultrasound photos proved there was only one little person in there. "Elise, what should we name the new baby?" She smiled with a sigh as their one year old babbled to her.
The small child patted Savana's belly and looked up at her, "Baby!"
"Michael, could you take Elise for a minute? I have to pee." Savana stood up as she saw her boyfriend cross the living room, holding a large box.
He looked at her, "You want me to put down the crib, so that I can hold E?" He looked at Ashton, who was on the other end of the box, shrugged then set the crib down.
"What does being pregnant feel like, I wonder?" Ashton spoke as Savana hurried down to the bathroom.
Michael shrugged as he carried decorations on one hand, while Elise played with his hair in he other. "Why don't you ask her when she gets back? I'm sure she'd love to tell you."
Sierra walked in, carrying the crib mattress, "I'm kind of shocked you two went for a baby right after Elise turned one. Why not wait until she's a little older?"
"I didn't mean to get her pregnant, but both of us wanted it." Michael shrugged, "I mean, we moved so Elise can have her own room away from the baby, but she's excited to be a big sister."
"I really wish you hadn't!" Lindsay sat down on the couch as Savana walked out, "Auntie Linds would've loved to see you guys come home."
Savana sat back down with her legs crossed, "I mean, you could be here when we come home with the baby." She pressed on her stomach in different areas, "Have you planned the gender party yet?" She cringed slightly.
"I have everything planned down to the T. The only thing I haven't gotten yet is a way to announce the gender, and I was going to ask you guys how you want to do it. Remember, it's Harry Potter themed as you requested."
Savana looked at Michael, who looked back at her, "Maybe a small cauldron with colored smoke or something? Maybe a color changing potion?"
Lindsay's smile widened and she nodded, "Ooh, that sounds so cute! Okay, I can do that. Do you have the envelope?"
Savana leaned back with her eyes closed, "I think it's in my purse, maybe?" She held her arms over her eyes and inhaled deeply through her nose.
"Hey, Sav," Niall sat down on a yoga ball, "What's being pregnant like?"
She thought for a moment, letting the room fall silent, "It's very awkward, I guess. Most often, it's uncomfortable. For me, it's like I should be happy that I'm making a life and I should think that it's beautiful, but I can't help but focus on the weird weight I'm gaining everywhere. I can feel them kicking a lot, and it reminds me of how excited I am to meet them
"A lot of it's anxiety and worry that I'm not going to be the best mom, or that something may go wrong when I give birth, but I lay down on my back and just watch as they squirm and kick. It's like that scene from Alien, but way less creepy. To give you a more straight forward answer, the physical and emotional pain is exhausting and very taxing, but I'll happily go through it to meet a brand new person that I get to love with my everything."
"That's so weird to think about, though," Ashton squinted at her, "You're the first person to meet them ever. You get to meet a literal brand new person, with no memories or understanding of anything." He wrapped his arm around Sierra, still watching Savana.
She shrugged, "What's weird is that I'll be the first to meet them, but I feel like I've known them for a while. I know that they like to kick and punch my insides like they're battling a demon. Let's hope they're a bit calmer when they're out of the cell."
"I'll chase them, babe, you don't have to worry about it." Michael sat down next to her, kissing her temple lightly.
"Why are we all just sitting here?" Savana stood up, picking Elise up out of Michael's arms, "Let's get this nursery ready." She started walking out the door.
Michael stood in front of her, "If you lift a single finger to help the five of us, I swear."
"You'll what, Mikey?" She smiled deviously.
He shook his head and kissed her again before helping grab the last bit of decorations.
"Are you sure you have enough decorations? I mean, they're not going to remember the nursery at all. Why so much cutesy stuff?" Sierra smiled in disbelief as her and Savana stood, staring at the floor that was covered in decorations and furniture.
Savana shrugged, "I like it, and I'm going to be in here the most."
Elise bounced in Savana's arms, then turned to Sierra, "Mama, baby!"
"Yeah, E, mama's having a baby." Sierra smiled.
