As the clock rolled from December 31st to January 1st, the house was completely silent. You could hear a pin drop.

Elise walked over to Michael, exhausted from staying up past her bedtime, while he watched to make sure she wouldn't get hurt if Niall and Calum started things.

"What'd you say, Calum?" Niall hissed through gritted teeth, "I dare you to say it again."

Calum shrugged, "I wish Lindsay would realize I'm better for her."

"You do know that being better for someone means realizing when they're happy and when to drop it, right? She's happy now!" Savana shouted, "We talked about this multiple times!"

Niall looked at her, "You even got someone else's opinion about what you should do?"

Calum pushed past him to get to Lindsay, "See, baby? He yells a lot. Do you want him yelling at you or your baby? Who knows what he does after he yells?" He spoke quickly as Niall and Liam pulled him away from her.

Lindsay sat there in a shocking silence. She stared as Calum was thrown out almost immediately.

Sierra and Savana went to sit with her, "Hey, are you okay?"

"Y-Yeah, I just," She sighed as she felt the room's eyes on her, "Why does he keep doing this? I know he knows I'm not going to change my mind, and that it puts so much stress on me that could potentially make me miscarry. He knows that, so why doesn't he just let me live?"

Sierra shrugged, "He's not in love with you anymore. It's turned into an obsession and I don't think he'll stop until he gets what he wants."

"What does he want then? Me? A family with me? The rest of his life with just me, me, me?" Lindsay ranted as she looked at her friends.

Savana gave a solemn look, "Well, yeah, I think that's his plan."

"Ugh," Niall grunted, "If he comes back, I'm gonna-"

Michael stood up with a half-asleep Elise in his arms, "You're gonna call the cops."

"Why would I call the cops when I could just-" Niall's face grew redder and redder as he spoke. Everyone's eyes still wide with shock, trying to wrap their heads around what just happened.

"Niall," Savana said, "You and Lindsay are married. Calum's acting like a child whose never been told no. Do you really want to stoop to his level and be just as shitty as he's being? Be the bugger person here. Understand?" Niall nodded. "Good. Now, I need to calm down before I pop a blood vessel or give birth or something."

Liam looked up at Niall, "She's right, man. There's no way you can fight him without getting a rise out of him. He's really just looking for an excuse to use against you when it comes to Lindsay. She's the only thing he wants, and he's just as determined as you were. He'll get over it."

"Y'know, I just," Niall ran a hand through his hair, "Why would he pull shit like this? Especially on New Years?"

"He's been doing it since you guys got married. We've been trying to keep him from doing anything too stupid, even letting him watch Elise while we just went out to do whatever." Michael spoke quietly as he leaned back, letting Elise sleep on his torso.

Niall turned quickly, "You knew about this? A-And you didn't tell me?"

"Yeah, but we figured you didn't need all this unnecessary stress with the wedding and now with the baby. We kept it from becoming a bigger deal than would've been. He stayed over at our house for a few nights on occasion."

Niall laughed in disbelief, "I-I can't believe you two! You hid him from me so that he could keep this shit up? Why would you do that?"

"It's not like you can just stop having feelings for someone the second they tell you to stop." Savana scoffed, "Ashton, stop having feelings for Sierra. You have to see her everyday, hear about her planning her wedding with Liam, and hear their baby named, but you can't like her even though you know you're head over heels for her. Liam doesn't like that, so you need to just stop."

Ashton looked at Sierra, "Okay, yeah, I see your point. That's a ridiculous request to ask of someone, but you should've at least let Niall know about it."

"Just kick him out then." Liam said as he put a chip in his mouth.

Louis sat up straighter, "yeah, what good's he done here anyway? All he's done is amp up Lindsay's blood pressure and sulking in his room. He doesn't cook or clean or engage in anything. He's like a parasite that sucks the happiness out of a group."

"He's not a parasite," Lindsay spoke, "He's only blinded."

Sierra looked at her confused, "Okay, I see where you're going, but you're defending a guy who's willing to put your relationship in the garbage just to have even a one night stand with you."

"Yeah, but at one point, I was so blinded by how much I loved Niall that I ignored people around me and their suggestions. I love him to death, but at the same time, if he married another girl, I'd wring her neck like a washcloth." Lindsay gave a short example, but dropped her hands.

"I'm kicking him out tomorrow." Liam stood up, bringing dishes into the kitchen.

Everyone nodded, agreeing that it was the right thing to do.
