"Lindsay, babe, I-I can't believe it!"
"I know, Cal. I can't believe it either." Lindsay smiled as she spoke to her husband. They both shared smiles as he held the positive pregnancy test. He wrapped his hands around her snugly, trying not to hurt her. "We're going to be parents, baby."
Calum stared at Lindsay's blue eyes as he pulled his head away from her shoulder, "I'm going to be a dad."
"Calum, wake up. Now." Savana's irritated voice paired with the sunlight in his eyes woke him up. "We'd like somewhere to sit while we feed E. Get up." She used her foot to push his arm.
"Cal'm, uppy!" Elise pushed on his ribs. He sat up and pulled her into his lap before raising her in the air to play airplane.
Calum smiled at her, "I am uppy, little girl! Now you're uppy!" Elise giggled wildly as he moved her lightly just above in the air. He put her down on his lap, "Okay, girly, let's go eat. Mommy and Daddy make only the best food for you, don't they?"
Elise nodded, making her light brown hair move slightly. It was full of tangles from sleep and her pajamas were covered in food stains. She was the happiest little girl Calum had ever met, and she could always make him smile. "Cal'm need eat, mommy." She pointed behind her as she ran towards Savana.
"He'll eat, baby. Don't you worry, but first, guess what you're doing today?" Savana stood by her high chair as she watched her daughter spoon up some applesauce. The little girl looked up with hazel eyes. "You're going present shopping wit Aunt Sierra and Ashy."
The little girl smiled as she took a bite of her apple puree, kicking her legs happily. She thrust her hand towards Calum and waved for him to come to her, but looked at Savana.
"No, baby, Calum is going to stay here and talk to mommy and daddy." She sent a glare towards Calum, who now sat opposite to the two.
Elise finished her breakfast and hurried off to get ready with Savana. Michael finally looked at Calum, "Dude, Savana told me what you did. She's beyond mad at you."
"What'd I do to her?" He spoke as he cleaned his bowl.
"It's not about her. It's what you did to Lindsay. You left yesterday after she told you she's expecting, and you told her it was her fault that you're mad." Michael explained quickly.
Calum shrugged, "So what? She deserves to know that I'm mad at her and this is all her fault."
"You do know that stress can cause a miscarriage, right?" Michael looked at him, hoping he wasn't going to say something bad, "I kept Savana as stress free as possible during her first trimester so that we wouldn't lose the baby."
"So what if she loses the baby? Her and *Niall* don't deserve to be happy after he stole her from me. No ones going to care for the brat anyway." He spoke with acid in his throat.
"Excuse me?" Savana came into the kitchen with a red face, "How do you think she would feel after that? Do you know what that does to a woman?
"What if Luke had come to me, blaming me for his anger and saying it's my fault that he's unhappy and mad that I loved Michael instead of him? What if I had lost my baby because of it? How the fuck would you feel about it, seeing how happy Michael and I are?" She was in his face as much as her belly would allow. She was hurt at his words, and knew Lindsay would be, too, if she had heard it.
Calum looked at her, "I would hate him with everything I could! You two are so happy together and with Elise and the new baby, you guys are perfect." He trailed off as he stared at Savana. "Did I really mess up that bad?"
"You'll be fucking lucky if I ever let you talk to Lindsay again. I know she'll forgive you because she's got a forgiving heart. After hearing what you just said, I don't think I'll ever be able to look at you the same." Michael got up, now just as angry at him.
"W-well, what should I do?" Calum sat down, defeated, "I can't just tell her I'm sorry."
Savana's lip twitched and she gritted her teeth, "It's a start." There was a knock at the door, bringing Savana's attention to getting Elise and answering it.
Calum rubbed his face harshly in frustration, "I really messed up, didn't I?" He looked up at Michael.
"You have one more night on our couch. If you don't apologize tomorrow, find somewhere else to sleep." Michael was hurt. Not because of Lindsay, but because of what he said. He never thought of Calum's words being so cruel. He left, leaving Calum alone in the kitchen.
Sierra and Ashton dropped Elise off somewhat late, but she seemed happy and bubbly, despite her bed time nearing.
Savana ushered the little girl into the shower with Michael following closely behind, but ducking into her room to grab pajamas.
About an hour passed before Savana walked out of the hall, "She wants you to read her a bedtime story." She handed Calum a children's book with a blank face.
"Ca!" Elise called from her bed. Her nickname for Calum, since she wasn't able to utter full names yet.
He grabbed the book with an apologetic smile, then went into Elise's light blue and black clad room. "Book!"
"I know you know the magic word, Princess." He smiled as she brought the blanket up to her chest and waited.
She rubbed her small, balled fist on her chest, the sign for 'Please.'
"Okay," He sat down and opened the book, "This story begins with a cat and her owner, the princess," Calum read to her until she fell asleep, emitting the smallest snores he'd ever heard.
He quietly put the book down and backed out of the room, shutting the door behind him.
"It feels rewarding, doesn't it?" Michael stood with his arms crossed by the door, "You know Lindsay was, and still is, planning on naming you her baby's godfather?"
"Really?" Calum said, "Why?"
"She thinks she owes you something, and godfather is the best thing she can do." Michael stood straight before walking to his bedroom, "We're going to bed. Goodnight."
"Night." Calum stood in front of Elise's door. He looked down and saw little stars and a moon next to her name, written in the same font Michael's 'To the moon' tattoo is written in.
