Chapter Three: Dinner

Me and Dillon where jumping on the trampoline and then my phone started to ring. So I got off the trampoline to answer it. I looked at the phone to see who it was. It was my mom.

Hello

Hey sweetheart. What are you up to?

Nothing just hanging out with Dillon.

Oh is that the new neighbor?

Yup.

Well dinner is almost ready why don't you invite him over for dinner.

It's a girl mom.

A girl!! You like her don't you Alex!?!

No mom I don't. I'll be home in 5 okay.

Okay honey I'll see you two love birds in a minute.

Mom!!

(End of phone call)

I hung up the phone and turned around to see Dillon sitting on the side of the trampoline. Looking up at the clouds. She's so beautiful. Wait no, don't think like that she's just a friend.

"Hey Dillon would you like to join me and my family for dinner?" I asked

"I'd love to," she answered.

We began putting on our shoes and going back inside.

"Let me go tell my dad I'm going to your house for dinner," Dillon said before running up the stairs.

While she was up stairs I was thinking to myself. I said in my head I hope they don't embarrass me. I was snapped out of my thoughts when Dillon started talking to me.

"You hope who doesn't embarrass you?" she asked.

Well at least I thought I said that in my head.

"Huh? No one. I was just uh.... I was just talking to myself. Don't worry it wasn't important. So you ready to head over? I asked walking towards the door.

"Yup" she answered following behind be.

We made it out the door and started walking towards my house. We didn't have to walk far because I lived right next to her. When we reached my house I open the door with Dillon right behind me. As soon as we made it to the living room we were greeted by my little sister Izzy.

"Hey Alex! Is this your girlfriend?" she asked.

"No, Izzy this is Dillon she is our new neighbor. Her and her family moved in yesterday. Dillon this is Izzy my little sister." I introduced them.

"It's nice to meet you Izzy" she greeted.

"It's nice to meet you too!" Izzy said with a big smile on her face and hugged Dillon.

"Izzy where is mom and dad?" I asked her looking around a little.

"They're in the there" she said pointing towards the kitchen.

I gabbed Dillon's hand and started pulling her towards the kitchen. When we were about to reached the kitchen I saw my mom and dad talking and cooking. When we entered I was still holding her hand. For some reason I didn't want to let go. I cleared my throat to get them to acknowledge our presence. Once I did that they turned around and looked at us and then at ours hand. Mom was giving me that 'I knew it' look so I let go of Dillon's hand.
