~•D i l l o n ' s P O V•~
My family moved a lot. I think I've moved 8 times and those are just the ones that I could remember.
This move to Cincinnati, Ohio was very sudden and had very bad timing. School had already started and nobody wants to start a new highschool with no friend in the middle of the year. Since there is nothing I could do about it I just hoped everything will be okay.
Before I continue with my complaining let me tell you about myself.
I'm 17, my name is Dillon and yes I'm a girl with a boy name get over it. I have brown hair and I'm about 5'4ish. My favorite person in my family is my oldest brother Sage. I'm mixed with white and Mexican. Lastly I love the color orange.
I was happy I didn't have to share a room with my sister Jamie. She finally decided to move out. The sad thing was she wanted to stay in Cali with her fiance. Another sad thing is my room is surrounded by rooms filled with boys who smell like gross body oder.
I have 4 siblings and unfortunately I'm the youngest. My oldest sibling is my brother Sage. He is 24 and he's mute, but he still understands everything. (that's one of the reasons why he's my favorite.)
Next, is my sister Jamie. She is 22 and annoying. Then there's my brother Justice he is 21. (he's really childish sometimes)
Lastly there is my other brother Nico. He is 19 and dangerous. (don't let his sweetness fool you)
My parents are Nyles and Star Bright in case you were wondering. (but probably not)
We lived in California before my parents decided to move to Ohio. It's not like we had family or friends here. All they said was they wanted to be closer to my dads job but I had a feeling there was another reason.
I wondered around exploring my new home when I came across the living room with a huge window.
You could see all the neighborhood kids playing football and basketball, riding bikes, scooters, and skateboards. I've always wanted to live in place like this. In all the neighborhoods I've lived in no one would even come outside unless they were checking the mail.
As I looked out the window I looked to my left and seen a boy coming out of a light blue house. He was walking towards my house.
I heard the door bell ring so I went and answered it. There stood the boy I saw through the window. He had sparkling brown eyes and dark brown hair and stood about 6'0.
"Hi," the boy said with a big smile on his face. "My name is Alex I live next door and wanted to welcome you to the neighborhood."
"Thanks for the welcome I'm Dillon. It's nice to meet you," I said shaking his hand.
"It's nice to meet you too and isn't that a..." I stopped him before he could finish.
Man, I'm getting tired of hearing this.
"Yes it's a boy name. My parents are just weird," I told him.
"That's cool! You get that a lot, don't you?" he asked.
"Every time I tell someone my name," I replied.
"So would you like to come in?" I offered.
"Sure," he said walking closer to the door.
I stepped aside gesturing for him to enter. He walked in and looked around at the house cluttered with boxes.
As I was leading Alex through the unfamiliar house we ran into my parents.
"Mom, Dad" I called. They turned around to look at me but was caught off guard by the boy standing next to me.
"Hey ladybug," my mom greets "who's this?"
"This is Alex, our neighbor," I answered.
"It's nice to meet you Mr and Mrs?" Alex said questioningly while shaking both of there hands.
"Bright." my dad answered "It's nice to meet you as well, but please call me Nyles"
"and you can call me star," my mom adds.
"Well were going up to my room,"I say heading towards the staircase while my parents nod the heads.
We climb the stairs and went to my room. We sat on my bed and started talking.
"So where are you moving from? " he asked.
"We are moving from California"
"Really!?!?!" he asked excitedly. " I love going there, especially for In-N-Out."
"Yup," I say laughing. "I like going there too."
"What part of Cali did you live in?" he asked.
"I live in southern California. About and hour away from LA, a city called Highland."
"I've never Heard of it," he told me.
"Yeah its not very known unless you live in Cali."
"Oh," he responds. Then it went silent.
"So what's school like here?" I ask trying to break the silence.
"Ummmm...... like everywhere else I guess. Nothing special about it," he answers.
"I'm kind of nervous starting a new highschool not knowing anyone," I confess.
"Don't worry about that I'm here, you can hangout with me and my friends if you'd like." he says
"Sounds great" I say feeling relived.
"We can even walk to school and back together," he offers.
"Okay."
"Do you have a phone so I can text you?" he asked
"Sure do."
He hands me his phone and I enter my number and hand him back his phone. Then I give him mine and he enters his number.
"Can I take a pic of you for you contact photo," he asked.
"Sure," I smile and put up a peace sign and he snaps the photo.
"Your turn" I say going to my camera to take the picture.
He looks at the camera a duck face and put up a peace sign. After I took the photo we both looked at it and started laughing.
"Nice duck face," I told him in a sarcastic tone still laughing.
"Don't hate on the duck face," he says still laughing as well.
"Well I should get going before my mom starts to worry," he says standing up from the bed.
"Okay," I say also standing from the bed.
We walked down the stairs to the front door.
"I text you tomorrow," he says turning the door knob.
"Okay. Bye."
"Bye."
