"Headline: Kiefer Ravena, the famous basketball player has been caught cheating with his long time girlfriend, Alyssa Valdez by making out with a girl in the bar. | PEP.PH"
Alyssa was silently sobbing while talking to Kiefer on the phone. Kiefer's sobs can also be heard on the other line too.
It's been an hour of ongoing call yet none of them managed to say a word."Alyssa," Kiefer almost lost his voice while calling her name.
"I'm so sorry," was all he could say.
Alyssa closed her eyes and breathed heavily before speaking. She tried her best not to let Kiefer know that she is breaking down.
"K-Kief," and that did it. She broke down by just calling his name. She was hurting so bad and there are a million things and questions she wanted to ask but all she can do is cry.
Kiefer was breaking too by dealing with all of the issues and seeing her like this. It was so much frustrating for him that by just one mistake everything that he has are taken away from him.
And amidst all the situation he's only got two things that keeps him right now. The two things that matters the most, the two things he couldn't afford to lose.
His family and Alyssa.
He just couldn't imagine himself without them.
He wouldn't know where to go and what to do if he lose them.
He was praying so hard like he's never been this hopeless and sincere before.
Well, except for his last championship game during the UAAP Season 78. It was Ateneo vs La Salle, do or die game and he was so down during that day and God knows how much he wanted to break down because he lost his grandmother the night before his big day and he doesn't know what to do for his family needed him and he knows that his team, the whole Ateneo community, and the game needed him too.
He was all alone and crying in the Church of Gesu, a few minutes before they finally head to the Mall of Asia Arena.
And just right after he did the sign of the cross, someone suddenly hugged him from behind and it was Alyssa.
He faced him and Alyssa wrapped her other hand on his neck and the other one was wiping his tears and holding his cheek.
She kissed his forehead, she literally kissed his tears away, she kissed her nose, and his lips.
She closed the gap between their foreheads, and told him, "One at a time," with her smile that could light up his whole world and make him melt.
He lifted his head up, stared at the crucifix for a couple of minutes, and afterwards did the sign of the cross.
He was hoping to see her when he turns around, even though he knows it's very impossible. She's in Thailand for pete's sake!
But God knows how much he needs her right now.
He knows he can't have anymore, that this is where he stops.
"Baby," he whispered out on the phone, he sighed heavily, he closed his eyes and bit his lips, stopping himself from tearing up again.
He just couldn't say it.
"I-, mag-iingat ka palagi ha?" was all that he could say.
He ended up the call.
