What?
"Cas, you can't just tell everybody that you're an angel, especially when they know nothing about this world." Dean was looking at that Cas guy seriously, but still seemed to be a little amoused about my facial expressions.
"I'm sorry. Let me start again. Hello, my name is Castiel and I am not an angel of the lord," he said turning to me. Wow. I raised an eyebrow, thinking that he has to be shitting me right now but he seemed dead serious. I looked at him for a while, scanning his appearance from his wild dark hair over those extremely blue eyes, that were the most beautiful ones I have ever seen, his soft pink lips that were framed by an almost non existent beard, this trenchcoat that fit him perfectly, down to his shoes covered in mud but still seemed to be expensive. When I reached his shoes, I looked up again into his eyes that were watching my every move, trying to read what I was thinking.
"Cas .. " Dean was starting to say something but decided to stop because maybe, it was pointless.
"So .. you're an angel?" I asked him, also looking at Sam and Dean. "Since when does the FBI interact with angels?" I looked at them sceptically, already knowing that never in a million years, these two guys were Agents.
"Well, uhm .. we aren't.. exactly FBI agents." Oh you don't say. Sam was rubbing his hand on his neck, looking a little sorry. Who was he trying to fool? "We're hunters. And we hunt .. monsters."
I looked at them with a bare expressions, not knowing what I should think about this. I was really waiting for the moderator to come into my room, telling me where the hidden cameras were.
"So you .. you didn't freak out, isn't that surprising for you?" Dean asked me, raising his eyebrows. I laughed a little, making him look confused.
"Well, I was already thinking that you guys wouldn't be agents but .. hunting monsters? Guys, who are you trying to fool right now, I mean, an angel of the lord? Hunting monsters? Do you think this is a joke for me? I knew I shouldn't have told you anything about this, this is-" I was really furious right now, feeling like I've been fooled. This is why, I was never telling anybody anything.
"(Y/N), wait," Dean cut me off mid sentence, "this is no joke. We're telling the truth. Cas is indeed an angel. He's immortal, he can heal wounds and all that and monsters are real! Werewolves, vampires .. they're all real." What is this, fucking twilight?
"You've got to be kidding me," I said, not believing a single word.
"(Y/N) .. this is true." Sam desperately tried to make me believe but how could I? That sounded absurd. "Cas, show her," he finally said.
"No wait, what should Cas show me?" I was stepping back when Castiel tried to come closer. "Back off," I snapped. He hesitated a little, looking back at Dean who just nodded. Suddenly, Sam was grapping my arms, holding me in place so Castiel could show me.
"Get off of me!" I shouted at Sam, but this giant was simply too strong for me to even move an inch. When Castiel got closer, his beautiful blue eyes were glowing. Like, literally. They were shining in a very light blue when he lifted his hand to reach my forehead. I was fascinated by how his eyes and his whole appearance seemed to glow a little. When his finger touched my skin, some electric impulse shot through my whole body. It gave me a warmth that felt oddly familiar but then, I saw it. Everything. It was all true. The monsters, the angels, demons .. god.
My eyes widened with every second that passed. I've seen how all those things started to exist when the first creatures began to settle the earth, from the tiniest fish, over dinosaurs and now to us humans, they've seen it all. When his touch left my skin, I felt empty. The warmth had gone and so did the glow in Cas eyes.
"Wow." Was all I could say when Sam let me free so I could sit down. "That was .. " I didn't know how to end the sentence so I just looked at the three of them with awe.
"Do you believe us now?" Dean asked me, all I could do was nodding. I looked back at Castiel again, now seeing him with completely different eyes. He smiled a little when he saw me staring at him.
"You don't have to be afraid. I'm here to help you," he assured me, looking at me with those puppy eyes. It was almost adorable if he wouldn't have been so hot. I seemed to have lost my mind, first it was an FBI agent and now an angel of the lord? What's wrong with me? His smile brightened a little. Can he read my mind?
"Yes, I can," he said. Oh fuck.
Dean looked at him a little confused but decided not to ask any further. "So, (Y/N), what about telling Castiel what you told us?" He said afterwards. So I did. When I was done he sat down, rubbing his hands in thoughts.
"I can remember this." He finally said after a couple minutes had passed. "Those children were extreme powerful once the sign was visible." He looked at me, seemingly thinking about something.
"Wait, visible? Does that mean-?" Dean started.
"Yes, the sign was nothing you could get, it was something you had from the beginning. It's a sign printed on your soul." Castiel fulfilled Dean's sentence. He was on his feet again, rolling up one sleeve of his trench coat.
"Cas, no." Dean stepped closer to Cas but Sam put a hand on his shoulder to stop him.
"(Y/N)," Cas was looking me deep in the eyes. His eyes were the same height as my forehead, so I had to look up to him. He was even more beautiful when he was close. Damm girl, he can read your mind, stop this. "I need to check if the sign is on your soul. But that will hurt really bad, is that okay for you?" Did I even have a choice? I nodded, sitting down on the old wooden chair, that cracked a little. Ches came to me, resting his head on my leg. I smiled at him and put a hand on his head. He always calmed me down. "Do it," I said, preparing myself for the pain. When he reached for my torso to touch my soul, his hand disappeared into my body. There was this electric impulse again, but this time, it was really hurtful. It seemed like my entire guts turned into liquid but at the same time, turned into ashes. It burned me from inside out and when he touched my soul, I could really feel it. It didn't feel like he was actually touching something, he seemed to touch my entire body but nothing at the same time. I felt naked, bare under his touch. He was touching my entire being, my mind, my body, I was completely in his hands for a short time.
It all happened within 10 seconds, then it was over. I started to sweat from the pain, Ches whimpering a little, slightly moving his head to comfort me. I stroked his head, trying to smile but I was still in slight pain. When I looked up to Cas, I knew that he did not only could feel the sign on my soul but every other scar that was ever cut into it. Damn it.
