When I got out of the shower and back into the room, Cas was sitting on the floor in front of Chess. He was stroking his furr and silently talking to him. Since Cas hadn't me noticed yet, I decided to watch the scene a little.
"It has to be a simple life," Cas said, continuing to stroke Chess' fur. "Just being cute, laying around and getting food."
I leaned against the door as Chess turned around to show his belly.
"Oh, now you want me to stroke your belly? That would really amazing. Sometimes I think belly rubs could be enjoyable." I couldn't help but laugh. Cas turned around to look at me, a smirk on his face.
"Belly rubs?" I laughed, slowly walking to him as he stood up.
"He said it's an amazing feeling. But I guess asking for it myself, it would be a little too weird," he shrugged. I laughed again.
"Just a little." I sat down on the bed again and Chess came to me to be patted again. ".. wait, he said? You can understand him?" I looked at Cas in wonder. This angel truly is an all rounder.
"Yes, of course I can. I can understand every creature living on that planet." He said that as if it was the most normal thing in the world. Of course it is.
"That's.. pretty cool. I'd love to be able to talk to him." I nodded in Chess' direction who just smiled at me his brightest smile. That cutie.
"At the moment, he would like to have something to eat and he needs a .. potty break?"
"Oh! Yeah, well, let's go then." Before Chess could mess up the rug, I grapped his leash and a jacket.---
We walked through the whole town, talking about everything we could think of. Cas told me alot about how old he was and what he had already experienced through that whole time. I also asked him in which time he liked living the most.
"That's really hard to answer. I think the 20's had an unique charm, I also liked the music there. But then again, the 60's also were a really.. interesting decade. I like Elvis alot." He smiled at me and I nodded.
"Me too. My Dad used to dance with me to his songs." I smiled when I thought back to those times. Long time ago, but it never fails to make me smile. I really missed dad.
"I know. I mean .. I saw him in your memories." He looked at me when I didn't answer. "I'm sorry, I was not allowed to say that."
"No, it's okay .. I mean, it's not, because he's dead but it's okay for you to know about that. He was a great man and I'm sure you would've liked him. It's just hard for me to talk about him, I miss him really much." I looked to the ground, trying to hide the tears.
"Oh please, don't cry, I don't know what to do when someone crys." He sounded really desperate now, what actually made me laugh. Cas looked at me really cunfused now.
"It's okay, Castiel. Don't worry," I smiled, slightly touching his arm. When I touched him, this familiar feeling shot through my body again. He had this special appeal that always got me when I got near to him. But maybe that was just how angels are. I didn't even want to think about developing feeling for someone. That's the last thing I'd want now.---
When we got back to the motel, after almost two hours of walking, I saw the Impala already standing in the parking lot. Dean leaned against the front and Sam was sitting on the driver's seat, the door wide open. Dean was the first one to see us, he didn't seem to be amused.
"Where have you been? We're waiting here for almost an hour!" Under his eyes were dark circles, he also had a lot of beer yesterday. I held up a paper back full of burgers from the little shop down the street. Cas already got a call from him earlier, so I knew we needed to make up for that.
"How's that she knows me better than you do, Sammy?" He laughed, looking at his brother. Sam only shrugged.
"I guess, when I'd bring you burgers everytime I have to make up for something, you'd weight 300 pounds." Sam followed me and Cas to the door. As soon as we got in, Chess laid down and shut his eyes. That was the longest we were on a walk since forever. I often wished I had more time for him, he deserved better.
"So you guys were on a walk?" Sam asked me and I nodded.
"Yeah, Cas told me that Chess wanted a potty break. And then, we kind of .. just walked and talked and forgot the time a little." I couldn't help but smile, Sam looked at me with one eyebrow raised. I knew what he was thinking and I exactly knew what that sounded like but I didn't want it to sound like that. I didn't want to fall in love with an angel.
