it has been a few weeks since the group of boys had resided in erickson. so far, nothing too bad has happened around here since they have been sleeping under their roof. of course brianna expressed her opinions of them being here and had thrown around some blunt comments. (which finn had thrown back as well) but other than that minor inconvenience, erickson has been running smoothly. y/n l/n still visits jaeden in his empty dorm. sometimes she'll come in while his friends are keeping him company, but for the most part he's usually alone.

jaeden isn't so thrilled about being glued to the bed until his wound gets better, which should be about a week. he just wants to explore the run down school, instead of y/n telling him about every room and location on campus. he wants to experience it himself. "ugh i just want to walk around." he groaned, obviously displeased about the situation.

"shut up, gianna already said you'll be able to in a week." she said, lifting her gaze from the novel placed in her hands and over to the complaining brunette. "it's hard not to." he responded, his blue eyes looking over at the girl.

playfully rolling her eyes, she went along to read her book. it was called "a lesson before dying" she had to read it for a class and she absolutely adored the book. it was one of her favorites, and the only source of entertainment she has left. "how many times have you read that book?" jaeden asked, causing the girl to softly chuckle.

"damn you sure do ask a bunch of questions." she replied before placing the book mark on the page she left off. "probably like fifty times." she answered.

the boy mouth was left agape when he heard her answer. "damn fifty times?" he asked in disbelief. all the girls did was snickered at his reaction. "can you read to me? i just want to be entertained while i'm stuck in this bed." he asked.

a sigh left her lips as she tapped her chin. "i mean, why not i guess?" she finally said while she shrugged her shoulders. "should i start from the beginning?" she questioned and then received a nod in response. "okay, just warning you by the end of this book you're going to be crying." she stated before flipping to the beginning of the book.

it has been about two hours since y/n started reading the book, and it's been two hours of jaeden listening to the girl. he loved her voice. that was the only reason he had asked her to read to him. a soft smile was rested on his lips as he looked at the girl dreamily.

placing the book mark on the page she decided to stop at for today, y/n closed her book shut. "i should probably finish my chores, i'll ask gianna if she can check your bandages." she said, before slowly getting up from the bottom bunk. placing the book on the bedside table as she done so. "fine, if you have to." he said, with a long playful sigh following afterwards. shaking her head before she started to chuckle. "don't worry, snow white. i'll be back later on tonight."

after the girl spoke she turned around to leave and open the door. before she fully exit the room and close the door, she turned her head to gaze at him a little bit. "get some rest." she said before turning her head back forward and closing the door shut.

he has been spending most of his time with y/n, yet barely knows a damn thing about her. the night he first came here was the most he had ever heard her talk about her personal life. i guess she doesn't want to open up anymore. he thought to himself before frowning slightly. god y/n made it easy to feel comfortable around her and make it seem like you had known her forever without spilling any information about herself. he just wanted to get to know her.

y/n walked out of the dorm building and was now standing in the courtyard. she immediately saw gianna sitting on one of the picnic tables they have placed outside, though her brow was raised when she saw the raven haired boy sitting with her causing the girl to smile.

it's weird, gianna and finn have been acting fairly...close? he is constantly trying to sit next to her while during dinner and breakfast, and he wanted to help her with her medical things. y/n had a gut feeling finn liked her close friend.

walking over to the two, y/n tapped gianna's shoulder. causing the older girl to turn around. "hey y/n, what's up?" she asked with a raised brow.

"can you look at jaeden's bandages before dinner?" she asked her friend. gianna nodded in response. "yeah of course. is he alright?" she asked y/n.

"y-yeah he is, i just wanted to make sure his bandages were alright." she explained, crossing her arms over her chest as she rocked back and forth on her heels.

"how come you've been hanging around jaeden so much?" finn asked, now butting in the conversation. gianna looked over at finn before rolling her eyes at him. "i can ask you the same thing." y/n stated back, her e/c eyes looking between gianna and finn.

"i'll check on his bandages, you should finish your chores." gianna interrupted the small "battle" if you can even call it that, she was just not in the mood to hear the bickering. the h/c haired girl nodded as she watch gianna turn around on her heel and softly slapped finn's shoulder. "what i was curious!" he said, rolling his eyes at the girl. though immediately had a smile on his lips.

taking this as a cue to leave the two teens alone, y/n did. her chore was to kill any walkers that was leaning against the back fence. which were never a lot, but trenton doesn't want any walkers potentially breaking through the fence. so there she was holding onto her homemade spear with her hands on her hip. in total there was about ten. not bad. she thought to herself. not bad at all. walking closer to the fence, she quickly stabbed the walker through the brain firmly. then pulling the spear out forcefully.

y/n turned around though once she heard a person clearing their throat. spotting her older brother, she smiled softly at him while she placed her hand on her hips. "did you read my note?" he asked while he started to walk closer to the girl. even though she had received it a few weeks ago, he still never confronted her about it until right now.

"yeah i did." she responded with a nod following afterwards. "thanks." she simply added shortly after.

julius smiles at his little sister before he pulled her into a small embrace. "i love you a lot, kid." he said with his chin resting on top of y/n's head. her e/c eyes were shut closed, her arms were wrapped around his torso. the two stood there for a few moments, just enjoying their time alone. it wasn't so often that they share an embrace like this, however julius finally pulled away.

chuckling softly, he placed his hand on her head and started messing with her hair. "go get back to your chore, kid." he said before he turned around and walked off.

y/n had a hard time getting the grin off of her lips, she enjoyed that side of julius. a lot.
