it's been some time since the two cars parked deep in the woods. it's been some time since everyone got well acquainted with russo and ivan. if you take out the part where the two almost killed them, they're pretty cool dudes.

everyone was already asleep all except for y/n. she can't really sleep. especially knowing her best friend is dead. first, it was colton and now him. to make matters worse they lost someone else. brianna. russo said she was the first person his people shot. and that crushed her soul. she was only fifteen, and a great person.

wiping the tears that had fallen on her cheeks, she made her way outside. holding onto her fleece blanket tightly. since she's up, she might as well keep watch. plus no one else is doing it. sitting down on the patch of green grass, she leaned against the van tire. her gun being close to her. she had the maroon blanket that had 'erickson' in bold white font printed on it wrapped around her shoulders. the breeze making her shiver.

the door of the van opened up, revealing jaeden. his hands were in his pocket as he took a seat next to y/n. "are you okay?" he had asked her, even though he already knew the answer. the three people closest to her had died, no one would be okay after that.

"n-no." her voice cracked, more tears sliding down her cheeks. "god, i'm acting like a giant crybaby. i'm not normally like this." she said softly, letting out a sad chuckle.

jaeden's lips curved into a small frown as he watched her. "you're not a crybaby, damn i'll be the same way too if i was in your shoes. there's nothing wrong with crying." he stated in hopes to cheer her up a little bit.

"i just feel so defeated right now. i lost my home, the three people i grew up with. it's too much." she spoke with sadness laced in her tone. her e/c eyes looking forward as she did so. she didn't want to look at him in the face right now. especially since right now she's looking like crap.

"you know what i thought about oliver the night before he left?" she asked the brunette suddenly, causing the boy to raised his brow at her. his soft hum indicated a "what?" and wanted her to continue. "i thought he was annoying. i was talking to him about that little cheek kiss and how i didn't like it. but really, i was just confused and oli saw it before i can even admit it. he still told me to go to sleep, and i didn't even say a 'goodnight' or a 'goodbye' i wish i told him how much i love him because he's literally always been my other half. my platonic soulmate. i just wanna talk to him one last time." as she was speaking, she swore on her life she felt her heart physically rip in half just thinking about that night. if she knew what would be the last time she saw him, then she would have given him the best hug in the world and tell him how much he really means to her. now she can't. it's physically impossible. she just hoped he didn't pass thinking she was mad at him.

"yeah, i understand." he simply said. he placed his hand on her shoulder as a form of comfort. "i was in the same boat, but you'll get over the feeling since you still have your friends and family with you. just remember what you have now. you have me, julius, gianna, and just everyone else. trenton, brianna, and oliver wouldn't want you dwelling for too long now. oliver would want you to enjoy your life." he said, rambling just a tiny bit.

y/n looked over at him, a small smile plastered on her lips. "thank you, i really needed to hear that." she responded.

jaeden smiled back, his blue eyes gazing at her's and toward her plump lips then back to her eyes. they were only inches away from each other, if they wanted to they can share a quick kiss.
