I jolted up in bed.

I didn't know why or how that happened. It was quite a nice sleep for me at first. I looked out the window. Still dark as my soul, the bats hadn't gone yet to bed.

I felt a throbbing headache as I sat on my bed. I was in mid putting my head on my pillow but stopped as I saw drops of blood on my nice white pillow.

I immediately put my finger on my nose. As I extended it, my finger was as red as cherry. As red as blood.

Ah, damn. Nose-bleeding is such a pain in the ass.'

Looking sadly at my pillow, I glanced around the dark room, looking for tissues or a piece of cloth. I saw none then frowned. I covered my nose with my hand just in case.

Click went my mind. Daphne. Daphne always put a cloth near her, every night she'll do that and said to my face after I teased her, for emergencies! At least I'm prepared, unlike someone!

'Bless you, Daphie, for your genius mind,' I whispered under my breath, my hand still shielding my nose as I crept to her side and picked the mint green cloth. She was snoring peacefully.

I examined the cloth first with my nose scrunching. Clean, not used yet, fresh.

So I took it. I dabbed it gingerly on my nose.

I was sleepy, alright, and my eyelids were drooping. I had no time for my bloody nose.

With a sigh, I crawled to bed, with Daphne's cloth laying perfectly on my nose, tight against it with one hand letting it stay in place. Watching the mint green cloth turned into dark red drift me to sleep again.

'Pansy! Is that my cloth?!'

My eyes shot open at that sound. I jumped up, the bloody cloth falling from the grip of my stiff hand and arm, still in position.

'Merlin's beard, it is! '

'Why do you have a red cloth, Daphne?' Lily spoke up somewhere behind her. 'Red stands for Gryffindor and you don't really support them.'

'Oh, be quiet, Lils. Red doesn't always mean Gryffindor, it's a nice color. Gryffindor misuse the color. But funny story, I don't have a red cloth.'

'Uh...' I stammered.

'Pansy, why is my cloth red- oh Salazar, did you bleed?'

'Nosebleed,' I admitted lamely. 'Sorry for using your, um, nice green cloth.'

'You practically changed that from Slytherin to Gryffindor.'

'Shut up, Lily.'

'I'm just saying, Greengrass.'

I groaned. 'It's not THAT red, goddammit. Its still green- see? Just hints of red-'

'Just hints of red? Just hints of red?! With all due respect, Parkinson, that is a major nosebleed and I swear that is not normal. Not at all.'

'Nuh-uh,' Lily added.

I rolled my eyes, my hand checking my nose, and yes, my nose stopped bleeding. 'Well, aren't you guys sweet. I appreciate the concern, but honestly, I'm fine!'

I hopped down her bed, ignoring the sudden sharp pierce in my mind. I felt like as if a sharp knife had sliced through my head and dug in through my brain. I felt unbearable pain.

I refused to show the pain to my friends. I managed to smile, looking all happy with my veins popping out on the sides of my neck, the results of resisting the pain. Daphne and Lily didn't see them.
