Khushi's body bloomed with life as her back arched and she tossed her head back in ecstasy for who knows how many times that night. Her body collapsed and she landed on Arnav's chest, who was also breathing heavily due to his release. Both laid quietly as the sun began to rise and light up the room. Arnav began to run his fingers through Khushi's hair and she nuzzled his chest, enjoying his embrace.

Arnav chuckled lightly. "Should I call you my kitten now?"

A small smile spread on Khushi's lips. "I like it." She turned her head up to look at him. "But not as much as when you call me your angel."

Arnav smiled and cupped her cheeks to pull her in for a kiss. He then looked at her with concern. "Are you okay?"

The smile on Khushi's lips went away. "I'm fine."

"Are you?"

"Yes."

"Then why won't you look at me when you say it."

Khushi looked up at him with nothing to say.

Arnav tucked away her hair behind her ear. "What's wrong angel?"

Khushi shook her head and laid her head back down on his chest. She gripped his sides, that little tinge of fear still within her. Arnav could feel it through her, as if it were a physical thing. So he decided not to question further and let her relax as he ran his hand over her back, moving it slowly up and down along it until they both fell asleep.

Khushi woke up with a start and realized that she was alone the room. Panic once again began to seep in, when she saw the little note on top of the nightstand.

Went to work, didn't want to wake you up. I love you.

Khushi sighed with relief and realized then that she had been clutching onto Arnav's pillow tightly. The realization of her fear only became clearer by her actions. Khushi whipped around to her nightstand and picked up her phone. She went through her call log, seeing the phone number that had caused this mess in the first place. It only appeared once, which meant that the person had only called once. That relieved Khushi somewhat, however when the question rose to when the person would call again, fear overtook it.

Not wanting to go back to that dreaded feeling, Khushi got up and went to wash up. As much as she tried to forget it, her mind was still clouded by it all. Khushi moved to brush her teeth when she saw a small post-it on the mirror with a smiley face drawn on it. It made Khushi smile when she realized it had been Arnav that had put it up.

He knows me so well.

Khushi continued on with her daily routine and went down for breakfast. Once that was complete, she went into the study and turned on the iMac. She went through her emails and saw the various companies she had applied to, requesting her to schedule an interview. Some of them wanted to see her this week, some next week, and some after.

Khushi leaned back in the chair with a sigh. Her mind kept wandering off to the day before and all of the get-away talk. All these days she had been so insistent on not going and needing to get a job. Yet now when the opportunity was right in front of her, she couldn't get herself to do it.
