The weekend arrived just like that and I was grateful. Throughout the week, Arnav managed to spend time with me. Whether it was walking me to class or me walking him to class, we did our best to spend time. And at home we would text the night away. And whenever we spoke on the phone, neither him nor I would put the phone down. We would always say "you hang up" but no one would until either it was getting to late or one of his workers passed by.

I don't know why, but his workers, it's kind of weird. I don't understand but oh well.

I was done getting ready when from outside, someone honked their horn. I looked outside and saw the sleek black BMW, Arnav's driver waiting outside. Grabbing the keys, I headed out. The driver tipped his hat at me and smiled softly. Opening the door, I got in.

But unfortunately, Arnav wasn't here :(

As we headed into traffic, the driver put the radio on. I felt weird. I don't even know his name. I don't even fit this environment. In fact, seeing things clearly, the driver and I are in the same class.

Soon enough, we arrived to the CitySpire. The driver opened the door for me and I got out and headed inside. As I got to the elevator, my new phone rang.

"Hello?"

"Hey Khushi."

It was Arnav.

"Hi," I blushed.

And he's not even around me. Well, 73 floors or so apart.

"I forgot that you don't know the code so I called."

"Oh... Well I just arrived and I'm getting on the elevator."

"Oh good."

Arnav told me the code and I typed it in. The elevator shut and headed up.

"I'll see you inside."

"See you there," I whispered and we both hung up.

The elevator went up and I felt that word feeling in my head. But once it went up a few floors, it wasn't so much of a problem. Eventually, I arrived to the 73rd floor. The front door was slightly open, so I let myself in.

Going through the foyer, I went to the living room and paused. There was someone sitting on the sofa, reading a magazine. At first I didn't recognize her, but the minute she looked up at me, I did.

It was Kalavati.

She stood up. "Can I help you?"

"Um... I-I-I'm here to see Arnav."

"Hmm..."

She looked me up and down and then sat back down, continuing with her magazine.

"You're Arnav's stepsister," I heard myself say.

She looked at me and laughed. Placing her magazine down she stood up and came over to me, still laughing.

"You're cute," she laughed.

Um...?

Kalavati was about to say something when Arnav entered the room. He looked at me and smiled. I looked at him and Kalavti turned to see what I was looking at. When Arnav looked away from me to her, his smile disappeared and he scowled.

In fact, he looked pissed.

"What are you doing here," Arnav asked sternly.

"What do you mean-"

"Leave."

Kalavati looked taken aback. "What-"

"Leave. Now!"

She blinked several times and then picked up her purse and magazine and left. At the sound of the door shutting, Arnav looked at me.

Honestly, I felt weird at that point.

"Sorry, I didn't think she'd be here," Arnav said.

"It's okay. ... you shouldn't have been rude to her like that."

"I don't care."

Um...

"And sorry, I forgot to tell you that I was in the library."

"It's okay."

Arnav came towards me and kissed me softly on my lips. I felt better immediately and melted into his kiss. He wrapped his arms around my waist and I held onto his biceps, and boy were they something.

He let go and tucked a strand of hair behind my ear. "You're so beautiful," he whispered.

And I went crimson.

He chuckled lightly. "Even more when you blush."

And I think I turned into a tomato.

He chuckled again and pecked my cheek. Taking my hand, he led me out to the terrace.

Sigh... this view is just amazing. I don't think a person could ever get over it.

But I don't get it. Why was he so mean to her. The way he was looking at her... what's up? I mean there's barely any talk of her online and there's barely anything said of her in interviews. Is there some sort of friction between the siblings? Well, step siblings? And is his sister Anjali the same? Not liking Kalavati, that is? Could both Arnav and Anjali hate Kalavati?

But why? And I'm sure it's more than them being steps siblings.
