McHanzo - Jus' You, Me, and The Sea

Ch. 1

It was a rare sight to see that of merfolk.
No one usually approached their territories unless they had weapons in hand.
But, who could blame them?
Rumors, false and true, spread throughout the towns about children going missing at the beach or torn off limbs washing up.
People feared them, all because of their difference.
Pirates and most sailors had no such fears toward the creatures unless they were in the water with one, in which, they’d beg for mercy or accept their meeting with death.
Jesse McCree wasn’t like that though.
The 6’1” man wasn’t afraid of what swam around down in that deep blue abyss.
He was curious about them and didn’t believe the stories he’d been told in the bars and taverns.
- Because he saw one.
A male with light, golden skin and raven black hair that flowed down his shoulders and back.
His fish tail was a beautiful mix of blue hues and gold flakes that scattered it, seeming to wind around the lower half.
When Jesse first saw him, he couldn’t take his eyes off of the stunning being.

It was last summer and he remembers it clearly; he’d went down to the shore to get some fresh air after a tense argument with his fiancé...and that’s when he spotted movement near a cluster of rocks.
The merman was swimming alongside them, searching the shallow areas with a focused stare.
Jesse didn’t dare move, he even held his breath for a minute or two.
He didn’t want to scare the interesting creature or make it feel threatened.
But, he also didn’t know what to do.
So, he silently watched the merman, noticing him pick up something; a golden silk ribbon that he slowly tied his hair back with into a bun.
Jesse found that look just as gorgeous as the first one and wished he could run his hands through those seemingly silky soft black strands.
But before Jesse could gain the courage to speak, the merman had already spotted him.
And, he was gone in seconds.
