"He still hasn't called yet."Both of Jaemin's friends, who are seated across from him, flinched when he slammed his phone down the table. It was already lunch break, so that violent action caught attention from the students that were around them. Jeno had to chant dozens of apologies from his side, and Renjun did the same on his part. As the two were doing damage control, Jaemin was busy being devastated on his seat.
"He might just be busy, Nana." Jeno told him, being the first and only friend to comfort him.
Because Renjun, on the other hand, wanted to be real and not feed his delusions. He knew he'd be harsh with his words, so he decided to zip his mouth and say nothing.
"Ugh! Why did he even have to be at another university?" Jaemin whined, burying his face down to the palm of his hands.
"Because you said it was goals to have a boyfriend from another school." Renjun finally spoke, mimicking his friend's tone at that certain word.
Jeno nudged him with his elbow, giving him a look before going back to their distressed friend. "Jaemin, we have different goals in life. He wants to proceed with medicine and you with arts."
Their differences made Jaemin sob even louder. "He got so busy lately and all of a sudden he just broke up with me."
Jeno quickly hushed the male beside him as he knew he had nothing good to say. Being the only one who had sympathy, he insisted on comforting him. "It's quite hard to juggle a lot of things all at once, Nana. Didn't you guys talk about it?"
Shaking his head, Jaemin sniffled as he kept on wiping the tears falling from his eyes. "He just called me and told me we were over."
What a jerk. Renjun rolled his eyes at the guy's situation.
"Would it make you feel better if he explained it to you?" Jeno asked.
"You know what will make me feel better, Jeno?" Looking at him with a swollen face, Jaemin looked serious in what he was about to say. "Us getting back together."
Renjun waited patiently and quietly. He waited to see when Jeno would lose his shit for this guy. Jeno might be patient and understanding, but Renjun knows that there's a limit to everything. Even the nicest person can have enough of everything.
Right now, he could see that Jeno was close to losing his sanity.
Which is why Renjun took the wheel in comforting their friend. "Jaemin, let's just move on, yeah?"
"No!" Jaemin was persistent. "Maybe there's still a chance that we'll go back to the way we were. I just have to talk to him and—"
