Neither of them knew how it had come to this, but they were now currently walking down the sidewalk in going home— hand in hand.Jaemin never knew he actually needed to skip classes just to loosen up. He was the first to be against the idea of ditching school, but at the end of the day, seems like he's the one that found it the best decision in his entire life. Well, slightly the best decision. A part of him felt incomplete not having a certain someone join him in skipping classes. He was still worried and up until now, he's still wondering about his whereabouts.
Renjun, on the other hand, was smiling ear to ear while still holding on to their uniforms on the other arm. However, just like Jaemin, even if he did enjoy the day and he felt a tinge of relief that his friend is not hung up on his Ex anymore, Renjun was still worried as hell about Jeno not being able to join them.
"Thank you, by the way." Jaemin first broke the dead air between them.
Renjun continued to walk, humming as a response. "Jaemin, you've been saying that hundreds of times already."
"I just..." With a small smile, he turned to the male walking beside him. "I can't thank you enough."
Renjun rolled his eyes at how dramatic this guy is. "I just took you out to unwind. I don't think you should be thanking me for making you skip classes."
"It was worth it though." Jaemin told him, not a hint of regret in every second he spent with the person.
"I still failed." The smile on Renjun's face immediately turned to an upset pout. "I was supposed to make you move on from your Ex."
His visible tantrum caused Jaemin to laugh at how adorable he could get. The shorter male looked like a kid getting mad at not being able to get his favorite toy. Jaemin got so used to seeing how serious and stern Renjun is in life in general, that he completely forgot how much of a spoiled brat he would act whenever things don't go the way he planned.
"I'm fully aware, it's not easy to move on especially in a one-year relationship." Stomping his feet as they were walking while also whining, Renjun continued to rant about his frustration. "But I want you to have your freedom! That dick doesn't deserve to stay in your head!"
He cussed out so passionately, putting his soul to that word. But instead of getting offended, Jaemin can't help but coo at how he was shouting in lowercase font.
"Instead of grieving about it, you should celebrate that you were able to run away from him! He's redder than a red flag." Renjun remarked, scoffing at the memory he had of his friend's ex-boyfriend. "He's a neon red flag, Jaemin!"
Jaemin lost count at how many times Renjun had to remind him about how much of an asshole his ex-boyfriend is. Even if he was delusional himself, Jaemin was able to convince himself that his Ex was indeed bad for his whole being. The amount of times his Chinese friend would remind him about how wrong he was treated, his heart was forced to finally accept that fact. Gaslighting himself wouldn't work anymore. Renjun's harsh, but honest, opinions would just pierce right through it.
