Waking Up

He felt sharp pains from his chest. Of course, he would at least expect this after being hit by a car, having the thought that the driver didn't see him.

Jimin blinked his eyes, finally waking up. From above, he saw a white light shining over him. It nearly blinded him so he slowly sat up.

Argh, he was still in pain. This was most probably from the accident that happened yesterday; if it was yesterday. His upper body was still aching pretty bad. He looked at himself and he noticed that he was dressed in a hospital gown. Wow, guess I've been out for a while. He looked around the room and the first person who he saw was a woman. At first, he didn't recognize her as she was staring down at something. He couldn't tell for sure because of her long brown hair which covered her whole head.

Jimin cocked his head to the side. "Excuse me..." He said in a soft voice.

The woman yanked her head up with wide eyes. It took Jimin less than a second to realize who this woman was. He felt his heart pound. She was the last person he expected to see after that incident.

"Jia... Jia noona?" It came out as a sputter but seeing his sister right before his eyes, it was something hard to take in.

"Jimin!" Jia placed a brown box, which looked like a small chest, and her phone on the chair next to her then she got up, ran to Jimin, and went in for an embrace—a light embrace.

Jimin was still in shock. He was still trying to process the fact that his sister was hugging him.

Jia pulled away then she looked at her brother with a smile that reached the sky. She stared straight at him and said, "Jimin, I can't believe you're alive." She was incredibly happy, seeing her brother wake up to what felt like forever. "How are you feeling?"

Jimin didn't immediately reply since he was still trying to figure it out himself. What was he feeling? Happiness? Confusion? Shock? Mostly it was all of the above with a mix of other emotions.

"Jia..." His voice was still as soft. A smile slowly made its way to Jimin's lips. "I can't believe you're actually... here. You... came back." After what seemed like forever, his sister, who never updated him, who left them 5 years ago, who he had no idea what happened to her, is finally sitting beside him.

"Of course I would come back Jimin." The way she spoke made it sound that she was about to cry. And yes, she was about to. Tears started forming in her eyes but, she did her best to hold it back. Jia's hands made its way to her brother's. She held them delicately as if holding too hard will cause her brother to shatter.

"After I heard about the accident, I had to immediately come back. Especially since Yoongi told me that you fell into a coma."

A coma. Jimin didn't really expect this. He thought that yesterday or maybe hours ago was the accident. How long was he out?

"How long was I out noona?" He asked with a nervous look.

"Um, about a month." It was better than being out for a year but, a month seemed to be quite long too.

God, how much has he missed?

He didn't know when his sister returned, of course. A moment ago, he thought that the car crashed to him yesterday and now, he has missed a month of his life. He blinked, still in disbelief with this news.

"A... month?" He repeated. Jia sympathetically nodded.

Jimin looked down.  What has happened within those months? What were his friends doing? Were they worried? Did his parents visit him? Did his friends visit him? Did his manager decide to fire him for being in the hospital for too long? Did Yoongi visit him?
