Trent
I walked into the kitchen and started shifting through a big white cooler. A bunch of people were in there, some already drunk. I rolled my eyes at a couple who was making out with no qualms about the rest of us.
I picked up two water bottles and started to make my way out, when Heather Wilson stopped me in my tracks.
She gave me a wicked grin, a sign she was up to no good, and purred, "Hey, Trent."
I frowned, "What do you want, Heather?"
She twisted a lock of her black hair, spinning it on her finger. "Oh, nothing," she responded, her vicious smile remaining glued to her face.
I rolled my eyes, "Okay, then. I'm just gonna go." I moved to walked around her, but she slid in front of me, placing a hand on my chest.
"Wait, before you leave, I just wanted to say congrats," Her smile grew seductive, which made my stomach flip in disgust.
I felt my face drain of blood at this. I swallowed hard and then asked, "What do you mean?"
She slid her hand up my chest and said, "You know, about the whole signing thing?"
I looked around nervously, making sure no one heard her. I took a step back, removing myself from her claws and choking perfume. "How do you know about that?" I asked, my voice barely audible against the pounding music.
She cocked her head at me, "Oh, am I not supposed to say anything? Does Gwen even know?" She must have read the expression on my face cause she gave a mocking gasp and smirked at me. "That must be so hard for you to keep such a secret."
I was done playing games. "Cut to the chase, Heather. How do you know?"
She shrugged her shoulders, checking her nails. "Alejandro and Justin share a manager. She can't stop blabbering about it to everyone she knows. And Alejandro, shared the news to me. He told me to keep quiet about it, but I just had to congratulate you."
"But we signed contracts," I whisper, more to myself than to her.
She responds to me anyway, her sickly sweet smile making me frown, "Well, she didn't sign anything. At least, I don't think she did."
Her sappy sweetness was making my stomach turn. I felt sicker with every word she said. "Listen, Heather, I need you to not tell Gwen. She doesn't know, yet, and I'm not supposed to tell her. So, it would be great if you kept this little encounter just between the two of us." I hated that I needed something from Heather. She used to be so horrible to Gwen and here I was asking something of her.
"Of course, I wont tell a soul," She responded.
I breathed a sigh of relief and said, "Thank you, that—"
"On one condition," She said, cutting me off.
I crossed my arms, "And that is?"
She smiled so wide it cut her face. "I need you to kiss me."
I laughed, "No chance in hell."
She lifted a brow and retorted, "Look, I have no interest in you, but my boyfriend is being a real jerk tonight. So, I need you to kiss me to make him jealous." Here was the real Heather in her full bitch form.
"Ask someone else," I bit out.
She scoffed, "I don't want to kiss some rando."
"That's really tough," I responded.
She rolled her eyes. Then, she put on her wicked grin and said, "If you don't kiss me, I will tell everyone in here. I bet your new label would love that."
My heart started to race at the thought. She could get us dropped for doing something like that. I wasn't going to let that happen.
"Fine," I bit out. I looked around the room, my stomach uneasy. Gwen was no where to be seen. "Where is he?" I asked the horrid girl.
She nodded her head over my shoulder, "Right there, flirting with that floozy Katie."
I looked over my shoulder to see Alejandro sure enough flirting with Katie. I sighed through my nose. I had to do this for the band. If I didn't, then our careers could be thrown away for good. I set the water bottles down, preparing myself for this.
I leaned in and kissed her. It wasn't an enjoyable kiss at all. Her lips were too rough and she felt like a snake waiting to strike. Gwen was such a better kisser than her.
I pulled away at the thought of my girlfriend, and then I looked up. And there she was, standing there looking at me with watery eyes. Her face looked so broken.
"Trent?" She said to me. Heather smiled over her shoulder at her. Gwen's eyes flicked from her to me, her face twisting into a look of anger and sadness.
"Gwen, let me explain," I pried myself away from Heather, who's hands were firmly on my chest.
Gwen glared at me with enough force to stop me in my tracks. "Go to hell," She spit at me before turning away. Cameron followed her close behind, I didn't even notice him standing there.
"Trouble in paradise?" Heather asked me, her voice sickly sweet.
"You're a bitch," I sneered before chasing after Gwen.
