A couple days had passed by since Rex and Marie's adventure to space. Their first official time hanging out together, just the two of them.

After that, they became very comfortable with each other, and would call and text regularly. The more they knew about each other, the more they fell in love.

They had yet to know that fact.

That morning Rex walked through Syspocalypstar's city in a positive mood. He had a wonderful sleep, and had the energy to pick up his own coffee.

He missed the store bought flavor, which was made very well, and was once a vital part of his morning routine.

He looked at the environment around him, and observed the glittering streets. The day was beautiful, and the distant sound of pop music echoed throughout the area.

People waved to him, as they were happy to greet their defender. He was incredibly well known, and well respected. He waved back, and smiled genuinely at every citizen.

He soon arrived at the coffee shop, Coffee Unchained, which had gone through quite the upgrade since becoming a new location in Syspocalypstar.

He stepped inside the building, and smelled the aroma of coffee, and fresh pastries. Chatter echoed in the background, as Rex stepped into the line at the counter.

To pass the time, he scrolled through his phone, and hummed along with the coffee shop music. It was like him to sing, or even hum in public, but he was happy.

As he looked through his text messages, he saw one from Marie. She wished him a good morning, and hoped that all was well.

She smiled at her words, and messaged her back. The Defender didn't even realize how obvious his joy was to those around him.

He always kept a stern, confident look on his face. Yet, that morning was different. It was like he was a different person. A man overwhelmed with the feeling of utter bliss.

Rex finally looked up, and realized that it was finally his turn to order. He put his phone away, and stepped forward. However, before he could speak, he was interrupted by a perky female voice.

"A large coffee, with a touch of cream and twenty five sugars. Am I right? I would include the croissant, but you only order those on Mondays and Wednesdays. When you don't have breakfast at home, because you have to meet with the Queen early."

The detailed description of his routine threw him off guard. His expression faded into a confused look. He observed the female employee in front of him.

She was somewhat unique in appearance when compared to the others in the shop. Her skin tone was light, and similar to what the superheroes' would be.

Her hair was a vibrant shade of deep green that shined in the light. It was tied back into a neat ponytail, then dangled just under her shoulders.

Green eyeshadow and glitter framed her eyes in a dramatic and flattering way. Yet, they didn't hide the dark, nearly sinister, lustful look in them.

Rex had sworn that he had never seen the woman before, but yet she knew his coffee order, and even the days in which he ordered an extra breakfast item.

"Uh, yeah." He finally spoke, "I'm sorry, do I know you?"

The female smiled, and pointed to the name tag on her uniform. "I'm Jade, and I'm your biggest fan!"

"Oh. Is that right?"

"Yes! Ah! You're so amazing! I read about you all the time!" She blushed, "I've seen you in the magazines where you're completely shirtless and posing for different swimsuit companies."
