{One Year Later}:

A year had passed since the night of Unikitty's party. After some time of being together, Rex and Marie got married. Almost as fast as in fairytales.

The wedding was as grand as someone would expect of royalty. They were married on Stardust's beach, amongst the pink sand and twinkling stars in the sky.

That was the day the Rex also gained his crown, and now he had his hands full as both the Defender of Syspocalypstar, and the Prince of Stardust.

During the last year, the couple went on more adventures than they could count, but they were stories to tell for another time.

Marie now lived with him in Rexcelsior, and donated her castle parts to more important constructions. Her maids were released from their duties after years of service, and returned to their families.

All the while, still keeping contact with her.

It was a beautiful morning in Syspocalypstar once again. The birds sang outside, and the warmth of summer filled the air.

The Prince and Princess of Stardust were still tucked away in bed, sleeping in after staying up late. She was cuddled up against him, and laid against his bare chest, which was warm and comfortable.

His arm was wrapped around her, and his face was pressed lovingly into her forehead. The two were the perfect image of a happy couple.

Rex's phone suddenly vibrated on his nightstand, and after hearing the sound of it, he stirred. He opened his eyes, and blinked, before looking towards his phone.

He tiredly reached towards it, and picked it up, looking at the caller ID. He answered the call, and held the phone to his ear.

"Hello?" He spoke in a tired voice, sounding nearly identical to Emmet's own.

"Rex, where the heck are you guys?" Lucy sounded on the other line.

"Hmm?" The Defender rubbed his eye, "What do you mean?"

"Yesterday Emmet called you. He told you to meet us for breakfast. We have something important to tell you."

"Yeah, but he said at nine."
"It is nine!"

Rex turned his head, and looked at the nearby clock. Lucy was correct. It was ten minutes past nine.

He immediately perked up, and sat upright. His sudden motion woke Marie up. She groaned quietly, and wrapped herself in the nearby sheets.

"Ah, shoot! I'm sorry, Luce. I thought we'd be awake by now. We were doing stuff last night."

"Each other, probably."

"Wow, you're very funny..." Rex shook his wife, "Starlight, wake up. We'll be late, but we'll be there. Just let us get ready."

"We'll be waiting."

The call ended, and he immediately got out of bed. Marie eventually sat up, and yawned. She pushed back her messy hair.

"Hmm? What's going on?"

"We slept in a bit too late. We're supposed to meet with Emmet and Lucy."

He rushed around the room, picking out his clothing for the day. Finally, Marie processed the situation, and removed the sheets from on top of her.

"Oh, that's right!" The Princess slid out of bed, "I didn't even pick out a dress to wear today."

Rex opened Marie's side of the built-in closet, and pulled out a fitted pink dress, with embroidered flowers. He tossed it to her.
