Just One Yesterday // I

Chapter Twelve

"Stefan, let me out of this car! Do you hear me! Let me out of the car!" Elena's shouts drift into my head, waking me up.

I let out a groan from the pain going through my head, and sit up. I look around and see I'm in the backseat of a car. Elena, who is sitting in the front passenger seat, looks back to me and her eyes go wide.

"Why do you have Clara too! Let us go Stefan!" She tries to convince him, but he continues to drive.

"What's going on?" I ask hoping one of the will give me an answer.

"You're a part of the next plan." Stefan says.

I furrow my brows confused, "Plan? What plan?" I ask but am met with silence.

Klaus walks into a room away from the charity gala going on by Damon. "What now? You just pulled me away from a fascinating conversation about landscaping the town square." Klaus asks Damon annoyed.

Damon closes the door and faces Klaus. "Stefan just grabbed Elena." he tells him.

"What? He's getting more desperate." Klaus says, uninterested.

"He's gonna try to use her against you. Do what he says. Get rid of your hybrids." Damon says annoyed.

"Or what? Stefan would never dream of killing her." Klaus tells Damon, no worry in his tone.

"You sure about that? He just tried to behead someone in the middle of a council party. He's operating on crazy right now." Damon tries to convince Klaus again.

"Well, crazy or not, that kind of love never dies. He's bluffing." Klaus says.

"Maybe he is, maybe he isn't. But would you think he's bluffing if I told you that I'm pretty sure he took more then just Elena. He took Clara. And if you don't want to believe him, then believe me. I know my brother better then anyone and right now, I don't have a clue how far he's willing to take this.  So, if he says blink, I suggest you blink, and for Clara and Elena's sake, you better listen." Damon lectures Klaus.

Klaus's features where unreadable but inside he was raging. He was angry at himself for not leaving with Clara. For not protecting her, again.

Stefan continues to speed down the read, my anxiety going through the roof, and my headache continues to pound through my head.

"So, what's the plan, Stefan? What's the big move you're making?" Elena asks Stefan angrily.

"I took Klaus's family to make him suffer. I'm not going to let him make a new one." Stefan tells us.

"So, what are you going to do, huh?" I ask shakily.

"Are you going to lock us in some cave and keep us hostage?" Elena questions him.

Stefan looks over at Elena, "Maybe, I'll just turn you into a vampire. And let your sister die." Stefan tells my sister, zero emotion in his voice or his features.

Stefan then grabs his phone and calls a number, putting it on speaker the on the dashboard. then someone answers, " Stefan, how nice to hear your voice." Nik's voice rings through the phone, anger and sarcasm lacing his words.

"Tell your hybrids to get out of town Klaus." Stefan demands.

"Well that's not going to happen until I get my coffins back." Nik informs Stefan.

"Okay. Well, then I'm going to drive you blood source and girlfriend off Wickery Bridge." Stefan threatens. Elena and I look over at Stefan in a sort of horror. Wickery Bridge. Where our parents died.
