I turned around and there stood Nigel Wray. I couldn't even speak I just turned to my parents with a confused expression on my face.
"Lindsay Jones I presume?" he said directly to me and put his hand out to shake mine.
"Yes, what's going on?" I asked as I shook his hand.
"Happy Birthday!" he replied.
"Someone explain what is going on!" I exclaimed. Mum handed me the piece of paper with the clues on again.
"Fast, powerful and strong,
Many awards have been won,
Red has been the colour for so long,
We are number one."
"Right. What is this meant to mean?" I asked very confused.
"Since you were fourteen what had I promised you, if I won the lottery?" mum asked.
"You said you would buy Saracens, but you haven't won the lottery.." I said even more confused.
"No but I am a multimillionaire, and I thought what better present to give you on your eighteenth than something you've always wanted!" mum explained with a smile.
"You mean, I own Saracens!?!" I practically screamed.
"Yes, but you won't have to run the club or anything Nigel is still doing that. Well it's all as it was before apart from the fact you can come to training sessions, sit down the very front on match days.." dad explained.
"And you get to talk to them, in the changing rooms!" added my mum, Sarah. This was so much, it didn't feel real, it was insane!
"Please tell me this isn't just a big wind up, it is true, please say it is!" I exclaimed.
"Of course it's real, here" said Nigel giving me a legal document saying I was the owner of the club. I turned to the girls and hugged them both, we were jumping up and down screaming. Once I calmed down I turned back to my parents and hugged them both.
"Thank you so much!" I said.
"Don't thank us yet! You haven't met the team!" Mum replied.
"I get to meet the team?" I asked.
"Of course you do, they are outside training as it's sunny, will that be a problem?" Nigel asked.
"No I'd rather that they are training that just stood waiting around to meet their sponsors" I replied.
"I know that you're going to be a good owner based on what you just said" stated Nigel.
"Come on then, let's go meet them, but first you need to meet Mark" Dad announced. I let the adults lead the way whilst I had a huge fangirl moment with the girls.
