The Darkness

Ch. 3

Me and Toby sit on the ground and start talking about whatever comes to our mind at the moment. Then...

"Why hello there, what is your name?" The counselor walked into our conversation. Great just what I need today. A lady who wants to know everything about my life, but I don't want to share anything with her.

"Name's Toby." Toby keeps looking at me. I don't know if she just refuses to make eye contact or doesn't feel like it. Either way, it makes my laugh slightly.

"Toby... You spell that T.o.b.i?" The counselor takes out a notepad ready to write down Toby's name. But if I know Toby (and I do), that is her biggest pet peeve. People spelling her name Tobi.

"No. T.o.b.y! I'm not ToBYE." She growls slightly. Something about her changes ever so slightly when she does that. It's nothing that the idiot lady standing next to us would notice but I did. Ike then bites her hand. Toby goes back to normal and shakes Ike off. "Oh right, thanks Ike. Welp. I gotta get going." She gets up and starts walking away. Ike stays a little longer staring at me, and it seemed like he was trying to tell me something. "Ike! Come on!" I hear Toby call for him and he starts trotting off towards Toby. I stare at him walking away.I stand up.

"Is she alright?" The counselor asks me concerned about Toby's well being.

"I...I don't know." After that, I started to headed home. I was thinking about today. "What was with today? Ms. Johnson and her grandson wearing weird gem things and Toby acting weird. It couldn't just be something random right? No. It's just a-" My thoughts( that's I accidentally said out loud) were interrupted.
"Where is it?" I look up to find Toby sitting on my porch and Ike on a leash . That never happens.

"Toby, you need to go home." I walk up to her trying to get her to get up and go home.
"Tell me where it is, Sarah!" Ike lets out a small growl and lunges towards me. Toby yanks on the leash holding Ike pulling him back and says something to him. It sounds like another language but i can make it out. "Quiet Ike! I'm trying my best okay? This isn't as easy as it looks. You should know, creature! If the package is open, feel free to attack."

"What are you talking about?! How do you know about the package?!" Toby looks surprised that I understand what was being said.

"How did you-" She says towards me.

"Just tell me what's going on!" She is aware she hasn't taken her medicine. Something is NOT right. I sigh. "It's in my room." 

"Care to show me?" Her voice is shaking now. I move to the door and open it pushing Toby and Ike inside before neighbors start looking over.
