"Sarah~" A familiar voice calls to me and a hand gently on my back starts to gently rub my back as if to wake me up. Wait am I asleep? I slowly open my eyes and I look around me. I'm at the school and I'm laying my head down on my desk. The entire classroom is empty. I look behind me to see who woke me up. A male about the age of 20ish with jet black hair and a small goatee stands behind me. "Morning sleepy head."
"Who are you?" I sit up and rub my eyes from sleeping for so long.
"Ike." I look at him confused.
"What? You're not Ike. Ike is a dog." He laughs.
"Do you not recognize my voice?"
"No, I do. It's the voice that-" Then it snaps in my head. That voice was the same voice that Ike( the dog) talked to me with and the creature against the tree talked to me with. "OH MY GOD! YOU'RE IKE!" He starts laughing at me revelation.
"Yeah I am."
"But how?!"
"I'm a shapeshifter." I look at him confused. He then changes his look to look like how he did that night in the forest. I stare at him dumbfounded and he laughs some more. "You're confused I'm sure."
"Show me more proof." He looks at me confused.
"Like what?"
"Change into the dog." He sighs.
"Alright." He changes into the husky that I know and love. He then looks up at me. "See? I'm Ike." My eyes start to water up and I lean down and hug him.
"I'm sorry Ike. I'm sorry that I doubted you." He changes back to the human form he had. He hugs back and strokes my hair.
"Hey, it's okay. I kinda figured that you would have doubted me when I told 'Hey guess what. I'm your best friend's dog.' I mean doesn't that sound crazy?" I nod into his shoulder. I look up at him.
"Random question, I know, but how old are you?" He blushes and looks away from me and stutters.
"I'm... 20." I chuckle.
"Then why are you blushing?"
"I..." He chuckles and rubs the back of his neck. "I always kinda thought you were cute." I blush.
"Wh...what?!" He chuckles and shrugs. "That's so gross." He nods.
"Alright. Now I need to bring you up to speed with things going on here." His blush fades and his face goes from happy-go-lucky-young-boy to war-general-serious. "Back in the day before I go involved in the situation, Toby was in the care of a king and a queen. After a couple of years, the kingdom that they were at was under attack. The royals decided that the best choice of action was to send her away with their most trusted soldier, Lily."
"Lily?" He nodded.
"She's a soldier and a lizard." I open my mouth to question what he just said but he held his finger up to stop me. "I'll explain later. Lily thought that the best place to hide the child here on Earth. That's when she met you." I nod remembering that. "After a few years here on Earth, Toby got in contact with her mother. She went into the forest to actually talk to her." So, that's what happened. "Lily got to picky with what she thought Toby should be doing. She placed her on a certain pill that can make anyone forget any certain memory."
"You can just get that anywhere?" He shakes his head.
"She made it. She then forced Toby to forget that she got into contact with her mother, where she originally lived, and that she is not human." I gasp slightly.
"She's not human- oh right she came from a different planet originally." Ike shrugs.
"Yeah. That's when I got involved. Toby's older sisters knew what was going on, but they couldn't do anything because Lily would recognize them. They asked me to help them by trying to get their, and I quote 'little baby sister' away from that horrible monster. Now, you saw what I really look like. They asked a person who looked like that to save a person from a monster." Wow. "I've been trying to save her since."
"Oh my god. Will she be okay?" He nods. "What can I do to help?"
~Author notes:
Okay. After several years of writing this story I... I think I've reached the point where I can go back and completely erase everything after this. I don't really care. I know that I haven't been on for a long time but I don't care. I'm busy that's it. This is a hobby not a job. I'm doing this for funny. Thanks for letting me rant. well, I'm off into obscurity once again.
