Contracts (One Direction)

Chapter 4

Skye's POV:

I was really nervous as I was waiting for my laptop to ring. I was going to video conference with the board including my father and mother. I paced around the apartment not knowing what was going to happen, my pacing was put to a stop when liam grabbed my shoulders, "love, you'll be fine! Just speak calmy and confidently yeah? and don't blow up on them if they say something you don't agree with" I looked up and took a deep breath and looked across the room where all the other boys were sitting just as nervous. "I'll try my best" I jumped as my laptop screen lit up with an incoming  video call I ran over and sat down, quickly adjusting my hair I answered the call. I looked around and saw my father sitting at the head of a very large table, my mother smiling next to him and other co-workers who I vaguely recognized from Christmas party's. "hello!" I quickly greeted, everyone quickly said their hellos as well but the person I was focusing on was my father, who still hadn't broken his poker face as he spoke, "what's this about skye?" I took a gulp, "Well you all know how i'm here to look after the boys and make sure all goes well yeah?" I watched as a wave of nods came from the other end of the call, "well..the larry stylinson rumors have died down and people seem to think that harry and nick grimshaw are in a relationship which no one seems to have a problem wi-" my fathers cold voice cut me off "get to the point skye." I was taken back and suddenly got way more nervous, I looked away from the screan and watched the boys on the edge of their seats nodding their heads for me to go on. I looked back at the screan, "I think..you should seriously consider letting harry come out, I mean people already get the idea that he doesn't just like girls, if at all. He doesn't have to come out with louis because  that would cause a mess but-" my father cut me off once again "no, he's the face of the group, tons of fans would be lost if they realized they couldn't be with their precious idol" I sat quietly for a moment, "what if we changed that?" I watched as heads turned and looked at each other, then finally looking at my dad waiting for an answer. "Go on" he stated. I smiled knowing I had his full attention, "well harry is the most popular boy in the group, why don't we just switch it? So when he comes out, yeah it'll be a big deal but the attention will quickly go back to whoever is in the front the most." I watched as heads in the room nodded and my mom gave me a thumbs up, "now who would be put as the front man?" someone questioned. I looked over at the couch in front of me, harry and louis were out of the question, zayn and liam had girlfriends so they weren't desirable, "niall?" I said kind of asking for naills permission as well. Niall looked over at his two best mates holding hands and sighed nodding his head in agreement. I smiled and said his name again more confidently. 

The call ended very nicely as they board said they would elaborate on my little idea and email me when the final decisions are ready. We all jumped up and screamed as we ran into a group hug, "I can't believe this is happening!" louis and harry yelled in unison hugging and kissing my cheeks. "You did it!" liam said spinning me around. Zayn gave me a high five but niall stayed quiet. After we had a couple more celebratory high fives the guys left the house and I went over and layed my head down on nialls lap looking up at him as he scrolled through his twitter t time line I assume. "i'm sorry" I said trying to give him a weak smile. "what for?" he said looking down at me as he put his phone down and stretched his arm over my tummy, this got me nervous. I'm so sure that he could just feel the butterflies fluttering away in there, "uuhm.. I-i got you..into this mess, i didn't mean to" he smiled at me, that gorgeous smile was so beautiful, even with his braces. "nahh, it's ok i don't mind taking one for the team. it's just... a little nerve wracking because i'm not used to being the center of attention" I nervously took his hand, a little scared that he might pull away, but he didn't,his eyes just watched my hands as I made small circles on the palm of his hands, "it'll be ok, I won't let anything bad happen to you I promise." I finally stated looking up at his bright blue eyes, he looked back into mind and locked our fingers together and kissed my hand, "it's my job to take care of you love, don't worry about me" I smiled and blushed not wanting the sweet sensation of his lips touching my hand to go away. We stared at each other for a little while, his fingers still intertwined with mine, he continued speaking not braking our gaze "I'm a little scared for us too" I blinked my eyes not knowing what he meant by "us" but I smiled, "everything will be fine." 

Over the next couple of days mine and managements plan was set into action, pictures of niall at Josh devine's party were released. There were lots of video clips and pictures going around, oh yeah did I mention I was in most of them? Drunk off my ass? My parents weren't too pleased. The Internet was buzzing as a video of me dancing around in my sparkly short white dress to the song pursuit of happiness. Niall, josh, liam and others were right beside me dancing and laughing just as much as I was. Me being my normal self though, I tripped and niall layed down on the floor and started laughing next to me. There were gif, text posts, tweets, pictures, and people reviewing my fall. I watched and laughed cause it was pretty funny, I tweeted @skyexoxx:I had a great time and the best part of my night was the fall so HAH! :) fans quickly responded, some with hate and some with love, one in particular caught my eye, it was a larry shipper, @LarryStylinsonlives:Let's just all take a moment to appreciate @skyexox's existance because without her our boys wouldn't be having this much fun I giggled and shook my head in disagreement as i replied :On the contrary my dear! they have plenty of fun with or without me, i'm just here to help out with somethings on the side lines ;) xoxx I quickly jumped on my laptop to go on the larry stylinson tag and sure enough it exploded with analysis and "what's going ons?!" I laughed to myself as I scrolled through the tag. I was quickly jerked out of my paradise as I saw what had been going on earlier on the tag before my little outburst on twitter. There were screencaps of hannah walkers, louis' ex talking about how louis cheated on hannah with a boy and saying very rude things. I could tell it was time for damage control.
