With the knife gone, the newest Malivore object the Salvatore School happened to be guarding was an urn. They got it from Seylah after Hope went to rescue Landon. She told me about what happened with his mother, but Landon has no recollection of it. Maybe if I wasn't so focused on my own problems, I would've told my cousin and best friend she needed to tell her boyfriend what was up.
Instead, I was busy trying to deal with the fact that my father chickened out on being a father. I needed to keep my sanity in check because I felt it coming. I felt myself wanting to flip the switch off just so that I couldn't feel the pain I felt.
Roman held me while I lashed out in the gym, breaking one of the punching bags we had in there. We were laying on the mat while I yelled and cried. I was hysterical, practically loosing the sanity I was crying to hold onto. While causing the scene I was causing, practically everyone important to me ran inside because they heard my cries.
Kol, Davina, the twins, Hope, my mother, my aunts, Dr. Saltzman, Rafael, and Landon all stood there while Roman wrapped his arms around my shoulders, trying to contain me, but someone who walked in was bleeding.
I smelt it and I stopped crying, standing up while being extremely quiet. I wiped my face slowly, staring at them. The veins around my eyes popped, and Roman grabbed my shoulders, holding my back as I searched for who's blood it was.
Aunt Freya. It was her finger, so I assumed they were doing some sort of spell, but the smell was intoxicating. My fangs came out, and I tried stepping forward again, but Roman grabbed me. He and I struggled against one another.
"Someone, do something! She smells the blood!" Roman yelled over his shoulder.
"Lilah!" Hope yelled my name out. "You won't hurt Aunt Freya, you know that."
"What's the point of having your humanity on if everything hurts like this?" I replied, and everyone stilled.
"Don't you dare turn it off," Kol yelled while Davina used her magic to make me stop struggling against Roman. I got on the floor clenching my head because the sound was deafening. "There's only one happy homocidal maniac left in this family, and that will be me!"
"Oh Uncle Kol," I laughed, looking at him while still on the floor and still in pain. "I'm a different species of vampire than you, none of you can stop me from doing as I please."
"Did she turn it off already?" Hope asked, fear in her voice.
"Not yet," Kol said. "We have to think of something fast, Davina won't be able to hold her forever."
Lorelle pulled a book around of her pocket. It was small and looked old. She flipped through pages and handed it to Hope.
"You three," she said, looking at Hope and the twins. "You guys do that spell."
"What is it?" Hope asked.
"Something I learned from your grandmother a long time ago."
The twins grabbed Hope's hands, and they chanted the words written down on the old spell book. I started screaming out in pain, and Hope's voice wavered. All of the girls look at me with fear, and that was all I remember before my vision going black.
-
"What was that?" Hope asked once I was unconscious.
"A spell that puts her in the middle of here and the afterlife," Lorelle said.
"What?!" everyone exclaimed, and Roman put my head in his lap.
"Not for long," Lorelle said. "It'll bring her to someone who will try to help her through this. Until she can get through it, she will remain asleep, so let's hope she doesn't encounter her father, because I'm not sure if she'll listen to anything Eli has to say after what that necromancer, or whatever it calls itself, told my daughter."
"Well, we'll watch over her," Davina said. She turned to the rest of the girls. "You guys all go get ready for that talent show I heard about. Also, what we going to do about that unicorn?"
"Leave it there," Hope replied. "It's cute."
