"how do i wake up?"
"charlie, he already knows way too much. why don't we just-"
"he deserves to know, luke."
"yeah, luke. i deserve to know. i mean, it is my brain, isn't it." ashton spats. i mean, i don't blame him for being angry with me. i just wish he wasn't.
"fine." i mumble, and lay back onto his bed. we share a look before charlie starts talking again. one that i'll never forget. his eyes are filled with, what i believe to be, betrayal. like i really fucked up this time. and i know i have. i should have told ashton the day, maybe even week, he created this whole thing. but i didn't. and that was my mistake. mine. not anyone else's. the thing is, i still feel the love that the luke in the real world gave him. it's...in me? it's like, stored in me. that's a creepy way to put it, but that's the only way i can explain it.
"truth is, i don't know how to wake you up."
my attention immediately turns to charlie, "you don't?"
"you don't?!" ashton shouts, obviously just as surprised as i am.
"no. but i know who does." she says, and smiles. confusion fills me for a quick second, but then i remember what she said earlier. and i think ashton does, too.
"well, ya gonna tell me or not?"
just kidding.
"michael, ashton. michael knows." she states. her facial expression actually makes me snort because she just gives him the "are you fucking kidding me" look. priceless.
"oh."
wait for it.
"OHHH, RIGHT. i remember now. he's the part of my brain that remembers everything!"
"exactly." charlie smiles. i just kind of sit and watch the whole thing. not like they need me anyway.
"where is michael?" charlie asks, glancing at both me and ashton. ashton shrugs, looking about as adorable as a lost puppy. i don't blame him, this is a lot to take in.
"he's asleep on my couch." i sit up, "he's been out for a while now."
"go wake him up?" ashton suggests-- well, more like demands. he put on his grumpy pants this morning, didn't he?
"come with me." i pout.
"nope, this is all you, hemmings." ashton smirks. "you can do this by yourself."
"oh, c'mon! he's gonna punch me in the face like three times if i go alone!"
"why would he do that?" charlie asks, eyebrows furrowed.
"hm, i don't know, charlie." i tap my chin with my index finger in a thinking manner, "we just told ashton the biggest secret that he's been trying his hardest to keep, he knows i've never dated michael, and plus all that; he hates being woken up from his naps. he's a grumpy one."
"wait wait wait wait wait wait." ashton buds in, pointing his index finger at me and furrowing his eyebrows.
"um, what?" i ask, glancing at a slightly worried looking charlie.
"you and michael never dated?"
oh. guess i didn't mention that.
"did i not mention that?"
