Is Hermione looking at Harry or Ron? Comment your thoughts. Wasn't that last chapter a handful? I know it didn't happen in the book, but I thought it would be cool to include it. This chapter is going to take place straight back at Hogwarts, because I have no idea what happened to them after the Burrow was burned down. Thanks :)

Chapter Eight

Harry's face had turned into a pale white, allowing for him to blend in with his button up under his robes. A wave of awe caressed over his face as he leant against the wall, a Daily Prophet firmly clutched in his hand. The news of the Burrow had circled around the school like a dirty rumor, only it was true, which Harry dreaded. He earned plenty of stares from people who didn't understand, people who couldn't understand. They whispered, pointed, scoffed at and frowned upon, because they either pitied him or envied him. Harry's treatment was far better than that of the Weasley's. The children of Hogwarts (particularly the older kids) had blamed the red headed siblings for somehow initiating the attack in an attempt to get rewarded for killing Harry. Just the thought made Harry laugh out loud, but it very seriously disturbed him, given how many people actually believed what was said in the paper. Because of the repercussions with Arthur, not many sought to believe the Weasley's in the attempts to tell the truth.

Ever since the attack, Harry had been extremely exhausted more often than usual. He still met with Dumbledore, but because of the lack of progress Harry had made in gaining Slughorn's trust, there was no correct memory to view. Therefore, Harry sat across from Dumbledore every day after supper, and listened to the sound of the loud clock ticking in the background. He felt a feeling of calmness in his room, which was what he needed after being so familiar with the sounds of Mrs. Weasley's screams. She said that it would take months for the Burrow to be completely fixed, and even then, it would not truly be the home she raised her children in. Dumbledore warned Harry that time was running out, and that he must get that memory quickly before the Death Eaters try to attack another family.

Therefore, Harry slumped against the wall, trying to think, when suddenly a wave of blond hair interrupted his deep thoughts.

"Oh, hello Harry. You look terrible." The small voice of Luna Lovegood said. Her bright blue eyes appeared to be glowing upon her pale white skin. A small smile was present on Luna's face as she stared dreamily into space.

"Hi, Luna." Harry said exasperatingly. He accidentally dropped the newspaper, but simply looked down at it, too stiff to bend down and pick it up. Instinctively, Luna sprang to the floor and clutched the black and white inked parchment in her hand, her bright eyes curiously trailing the words.

"Attack on the Burrow, huh?" She mumbled as she read. "What hoshpot."

Harry's eyebrows curled. "It actually happened, Luna. Haven't you heard people talking about it?"

"I'm afraid not. I seem to have trouble paying attention every so often because a familiar buzzing startles my ears.. I think I hear one now, actually.." Luna trailed off. "Oh, Harry? Can I ask you something?"

     Harry's eyebrows raised. "Okay."

"Is something going on between you and Hermione?"

Harry's eyes bulged. "Absolutely not," he breathed a little bit too quickly. "Why?"

"Oh, that's too bad." Luna said sadly. "I better go then-"
