Sam hummed, swaying to the beat of a song stuck in his head. He stood in front of the stove, spatula in hand, moving around the eggs frying the pan. He could feel Taurtis's eyes on him, his worried gaze boring into the back of his head.
Sam turned to glare at him, "I know how to cook."
Taurtis raised a hand, taking a sip of his coffee, "I never said you couldn't."
"Then stop watching me like you expect me to burn the building down," Sam huffed, bring his attention back to the eggs.
"Well, in case you haven't noticed, you're wagging your little tail around. It's hard not to stare."
"Don't lie. If that's what you were really doing, you'd be over here."
"You're cooking."
"That doesn't stop you from bothering Dom."
"I just know that I'm not the one that gets the pleasure of eating any of it."
Sam scowled at the eggs, still not believing him.
Taurtis sighed, placing his coffee down. He walked over, placing his hands on the counters on either side of Sam, "Come on, Sammy. We all know you're the best cook out of all of us. Of course, I'm a little miffed that this is all for Grian."
"You really think that?"
"Of course I do."
"Well, Grian hasn't had any of my cooking yet, so it's only fair," Sam said, "Besides, maybe I can make you something next week."
Taurtis hummed a response, placing a kiss of Sam's neck, before returning to his beloved coffee.
Sam smiled as he finished up with the eggs.
"Hey, why does it smell like-" "Like what?" Sam raised an eyebrow at Dom.
Dom smiled, "Like heaven in here. But now I see it's because an angel is cooking."
"You're in good mood."
"Yeah, well, I just woke up on the right side of the bed I guess."
Taurtis rolled his eyes, "Sure, it has nothing to do with the fact that you and J locked your door early last night."
Sam snickered as Dom opened and closed his mouth like a fish, "P-People can have conversations in private every now and again."
"Ookay. Whatever you say."
"Morning," J grabbed a mug from the cabinet.
"J, do you think Grian will like this?" Sam asked.
"You made it. Of course, he'll like it."
"Yeah, but it's just an omelet and bacon. Do you think it's too simple?"
"Sam, you made it with love. It'll be perfect."
"You're so sweet," Sam kissed his cheek.
"Why are we all in the kitchen?" Grian asked.
"Oh, you're awake," Sam smiled at him, "Sit. I made you breakfast."
"You didn't have to-" "Nonsense. You have your test today, so I decided to make you some good brain fuel. Right, J?"
J nodded, "That is the intent."
Sam placed the plate in front of him. There was a big omelet with mushrooms and spinach, as well as two crispy strips of bacon. It looked fantastic and smelled good. Grian glanced up to thank Sam when the others caught his attention. Taurtis was waving his hands and shaking his head, mouthing, "Don't swallow." Dom mouthed, "Don't react." J motioned for him to eat and smile after. He must have been staring for too long, because Sam frowned, turning to look behind him. The others quickly resumed what they were doing.
