Chapter 4

(y/n) POV

I walked behind Kris out of the classroom to find Susie which was pretty easy as she was less than a couple meters away, but just as we both saw her she put her hand in her jacket pocket and pulled out a singular piece of pristine white chalk but what she did with it though is what surprised me. She lifted it to her mouth and began to eat it, the sounds of brittle chalk shattering created continuous crunches and an equally loud gulp filled the once silent hall.

I was a little more than confused at what I just watched, being stood behind Kris I couldn't tell how he felt about this from his expression but I can only guess he is as confused as I am. She turned around and slowly began to close in on Kris and I although it seemed more like she was focusing on Kris.

"...Kris, didn't see you there" She continued taking steps toward Kris seemingly ignoring me, I sidestepped from behind Kris to get a better look at the monster, there was nothing about her of particular interest, aside from the fact she was still approaching.

"...hey, You didn't see anything just now did you?" She seemed to still be ignoring me. I looked at Kris who was shaking ever so slightly as she edged closer to him, I didn't expect someone as usually expressionless as Kris to get scared so easily.

"...you can't even say? Kris..." Kris remained silent as Susie grew even closer and closer until Kris had his back against the locker. I could see the part of his face not covered by his bangs, he didn't show he was afraid in that regard it just looked as emotionless as ever but his body language showed clearly how afraid he was of the purple behemoth stood towering over him.

"Hey" She put her hand on Kris' shoulder, I knew that she was planning something as a maniacal grin grew on her face showing her sharp yellow teeth clamped together before speaking again.

"Let me tell you a secret." Susie swiftly lifted Kris by his sweater collar and slammed his body into the lockers behind him creating a loud metallic slam which echoed through the hallways, Kris' face showed he was in pain which was further backed up from the dent formed around him.

"Quiet people piss me off!" This is too much, I have to stop this. I just didn't want to get into a fight this early into my time at this school, but dammit someone has to protect Kris! And it's going to be me!

"Hey!" I yell staring at Susie, her grin of jagged teeth grew wider as she turned to face me still holding Kris against the lockers.

"What!? Don't think I haven't forgotten about you! Or do you actually care about this freak?" She lifts Kris a little, teasing me as if Kris was a simple plaything. I felt my hand tighten and teeth grit staring at this display.

"I'd shut your fucking mouth if I were you!" I stared through the dark concealment of my hood as I felt my anger build up staring at the monster before me.

"Or else...You're really gonna regret it!" I stare directly where I think her eyes are past her bangs and wait for her reaction.

Susie dropped Kris who slumped against the lockers after hitting the ground with a thud, she began to lift me against the lockers but unlike Kris her hand was wrapped around my throat and was tightening. My body was also thrown against the lockers behind me making me grunt from the impact, the hit also made my hood fall back revealing my face for the first time to the monster.

"A human huh? Ha! No wonder you stood up for that Freak!" Susie regained her toothy grin with a chuckle and loosened her grip slightly from laughing.

"Heheh...It took you that long to figure out? You must be dumber than you look" Susie grit her teeth and snarled as she tightened her grip around my throat, I didn't care about that, I just wanted Kris to have time to run for help or something like that. I look over to where I saw him and saw Kris still slouched to the ground, he looked worried from what I could tell,
