Soul mates (Male Kris x Fem Reader)

Chapter 9

(y/n) POV

Kris and Susie stared at the orange and white heart shape on my chest as it faded out, "So...that was my Soul...I think. Kris' was just one colour, red, which means he's fully human...and mine...wasn't just orange, which means..." as I awkwardly explained I watched Kris and Susie's expression to see if they caught on but it was kind of hard to tell cause both had hair covering their eyes. 

Kris looked like he figured it out and Susie was still scowling like usual, "...I'm...only half human..." Susie's scowl kind of dropped for a second but quickly put the face back on before saying "You're even more of a freak than I thought." and chuckling to herself, I would have punched her if not for Ralsei being here,

"So you're half monster?" Kris asked, I looked to him and slowly nodded "My Father was a monster, he left my Mother before I was even born..." "I'm sorry about your Father (y/n)." Ralsei said peeking from behind Kris. 

"Don't feel sorry, he was a Scumbag anyway." I responded before realising Ralsei giving me a stern look for my language "...I'm not apologising." "Wait so what happened to you Dad?" Kris asked, I shrugged "Don't know, could be dead, could not be" Kris paused for a moment before I started talking again "How come I saw your soul in the first place?" I asked Kris, he looked to his chest and back up "It first  happened after that fight with Lancer.  We weren't really in any danger the past couple of fights, so maybe it only happens when we are." That would explain why they hadn't seen mine until now.   

"Part human, part monster. What, you got some kind of superpower to go with it?" Susie asked sarcastically still trying to annoy me, I just stared at her before turning back to Kris and Ralsei. "We should get going, y'know...Save the world and all." I said trying to change the subject "Wait, what about your Mom?" Kris asked before I could start walking down the path "...A human, I haven't seen her in a while...a long while," I said bluntly before facing Kris "Let's stop talking about my family, OK?" I asked before turning around and leading the way. 

I had never told anyone that before, I already regretted telling Susie but I shouldn't be focusing on such trivial things when the world is at stake...I think it is anyway. 

We walked in awkward silence for a short while and came across a clearing with a tall metal fence and a small patch of stone in the middle of the area with two glowing panel on either side and two stone boxes at the bottom, Ralsei saw this and broke the silence "Oh, look, Kris! Another puzzle!" "Oh no." Susie said completely emotionless before Ralsei chimed in again "Let's read the instructions!"

 Ralsei walked up to a sign on the fence "H...Huh!? The Instructions are vandalised...! It says...Thoust fools, thou will NEVER figure it out now! Ruining instructions...That's definitely against the rules!" Ralsei paused for a moment then looked back at the sign "Then it, um, says, PS- I make my own rules. -RK" 

"Well, that explains that." Susie said before walking to the other side of the fence "Why don't we just climb over this spiked fence?" she asked. Ralsei looked to her and paused before saying "Umm, because then we'd get impaled and die...?" Ralsei explained, Susie smiled "Cool, I'll work on that and you do the puzzle." she started examining the fence and Ralsei looked back to Kris and I and said "Umm, try your best, Kris and (y/n)!" 

Kris and I started pushing a box, which moved surprisingly easily, toward one of the panels, pushing the box onto the panel caused it to click and the box to glow pink, "Great job, you two! I think you're onto something!" Ralsei said congratulating us "Hey Kris, give up whenever you feel like it. It's all good" Susie said with a sly grin.

I moved my cloak so Ralsei couldn't see my hand and silently gave Susie the middle finger before going to help Kris with the second box, needless to say she scowled at me again. Moving the second box was just as easy, the box turned pink, the click noise sounded and the fence gate opened.
