Soul mates (Male Kris x Fem Reader)

Chapter 8

(y/n) POV

We walked through the Great Door to a forest of red leaved trees and purple grass, I've given up trying to make sense of anything here at this point so I just accepted it, Ralsei closed the door behind us and turned to us, "Welcome to the Field of Hopes and Dreams." For a place in the so called "Dark world" the name didn't seem that fitting but at least the red leaves reminded me of the autumn leaves at Hometown which was kind of nice to think about. It wasn't very often that thinking about where I wasn't would make me feel some kind of good. 

We walked down a path of purple grass, Kris and I lead the way with Ralsei following behind, while we walked I saw a sign and read it out to the others.

"Enemies ahead! You're gonna die! Signed, Lancer"

I looked further ahead and saw in a small opening, a single green and white slug creature with a diamond motif wandering back and forth, I looked to Ralsei and pointed it out to him "Looks like the perfect time to try out the whole sparing thing." Ralsei had a cheerful look about him when I said that "Oh that's wonderful! Just try to convince him to stop fighting and it should be easy" Ralsei said, he seemed happy about almost everything around him, it was actually kind of impressive.

I looked at Kris who looked back and nodded before we walked over toward where this slug thing was, it saw us and charged, I only now noticed it held on to a small dagger with a small appendage  but it was not much compared to the sword Kris had summoned again, I looked to the thing "Hey...Stop fighting" I said, "...OK" it replied and lowered the dagger. We spared the thing and walked past it, "Well done, I knew you could do it" Ralsei congratulated us "It wasn't much of a threat really" I responded as we kept walking. 

At the end of the clearing was another sign "If you're reading this...I guess you're dead. Signed, Lancer" Kris let out a small chuckle when I finished which sounded kinda cute...Trying not to think to hard about that I gestured for the others to follow as I began to walk.

As we walked we came across Lancer standing in the path I prepared for him to be hostile but he just stood there as he started talking "Ho ho ho...if it isn't my three favourite people. Psyche! You guys aren't even in my top five!!" 

"Lancer! Where's Susie?" Ralsei spoke up "You mean the purple girl...? Ho ho ho...You Fools! You're too late to stop me...!" Lancer continued, Ralsei looked surprised "What did you do?" he asked "Hahaha...It was SO simple. She beat me up, so I ran away...!" "That's a bit anticlimactic" Ralsei responded.

After that conversation we moved down a split in the path and found a different looking tree, a dark purple one with red star shapes on it, there was a sign next to it saying 

"These types of trees DON'T contain an item that can heal you. Whatever you do, DON'T take the darker coloured stars! You got it!? Signed, Lancer" 

 I looked over to Kris who was already taking the two darker stars from the tree, "Those are dark candies, use them to heal yourself if I cant" Ralsei said looking proud with his knowledge "...I'll keep that in mind" I said watching Kris pick from the tree, he turned to me after taking them and handed one to me, "Oh...Thanks Kris..." We stood awkwardly in silence for a moment "Right, let's find Susie" I said to break the silence, I turned and lead the way and gestured for the two of them to follow.

 We walked back to the crossroads with Lancer still standing there, "So are you just going to stand there?" Ralsei asked "I thought you would at least run to the right..." "Why!? The purple girl's over there" Lancer replied, I shrugged and looked to Kris, "Alright let's keep moving" he nodded and started walking with Ralsei behind us again. 

Before we left Lancer he called over to us, "Hey, if you head that way, my troops will thrash you." we looked back at him and Ralsei spoke up again "Is that a threat?" He asked "I prefer to think of it as an invitation." Lancer responded with a little smile, I stopped feeling any sense of danger from Lancer at this point, he may have done some damage earlier but that was mostly me blocking them from hitting Kris and he is also a literal child anyway so I don't think I can stay mad at him for it.
