(y/n) POV
I stood behind Kris while he stood in the doorway
"Oh... K-Kris...! We thought you weren't coming today" I hear a female voice say from inside the classroom. Kris moved inside and I walked in after him, I quickly glanced at the other students and they all stared at me which was to be expected.
"A-ah the new student, could you p-please introduce yourself to the class" the female voice chimed in. I glanced at them quickly, they were a short, yellow, lizard-like monster wearing a light green shirt, a dark green blazer, a red tie and a brown skirt.
"Of course miss" I turn to face the class, the repeats of this process is starting to get annoying.
"My name is (f/n) (l/n), you may call me (y/n)...also I am a human"
"W-well (y/n) I'm A-Alphys, you're teacher from now on. I've set up a s-seat for you at the back b-behind Kris." The yellow monster pointed to the back of the classroom where Kris had already walked over and sat down without me noticing.
I walked over and sat in my seat looking at Alphys and waiting for her to continue. I had noticed a couple monsters were glancing in my direction but I paid it no mind considering Kris and I are the only humans in the school or the entire town to be fair.
"Y-You two considering you both turned up late I should tell you we are doing a group p-project this month, s-so the two of you are in a group" Alphys said gesturing toward Kris and me, Kris turned to me and we looked at each other for a couple seconds. It was hard to tell how he felt about this because of how his bangs hide his face, but he didn't act like he cared that much about it which is good because neither did I.
"R-Right now that everyone is in groups we can finally-" Alphys was cut off by the door being slammed open even harder than when Kris opened it before.
In the doorway stood a towering lavender skinned monster with bangs hiding their eyes, long dark brown hair and they also looked slightly dinosaur-like. They wore a jacket, torn jeans, black shoes and a white shirt so they pretty much looked like a generic bully.
Kris and I seemed to be the only ones unaffected by the presence of the behemoth looming into the classroom but all other students and Alphys looked as if the grim reaper them self had opened the door. The whole class was silent for a couple seconds before Alphys broke the silence.
"h...hi, susie" Alphys said very quietly, her stutter seemed like a kind of disorder but this instance sounded much more out of fear of the monster now known as Susie. Susie herself remained quiet for a couple of seconds before finally speaking
"... am I late?" her voice sounded gruff and tired which I suppose would make her scare anything to cross her path or perhaps to show dominance over all other students, of course this didn't affect me. I honestly don't even know if it's bravery or pure idiocy but I don't get scared of such trivial things as bullies or barney the dinosaur knockoffs although it looked like everyone else was filled with the exact opposite feelings.
"Ohh, n-no! You're fine! W-we were just, uh..." Alphys blurted out, she began sweating nervously,
"Ch-Choosing partners for the next group project, and..." I had a bad feeling about her next words,
"Ummm, Susie, you're with Kris and (y/n)!" Susie seemed to stare at Kris and me but more so on me but I couldn't tell all that much from her eyes being covered. She just stared quietly for a few more seconds before speaking again.
"...great" she muttered while still standing in the doorway
Well... I'm in a group with the only other human in the entire town and a monster bound to try and start some shit.
"wonderful" I quietly mumble under my breath. Alphys gave Kris and me a look like she was begging for forgiveness and was still nervously sweating about the whole affair but Susie simply remained standing in the doorway which I found strange.
"N-now that everyone's here, I'll write the assignment!" Alphys said as she tried to start her lesson running to her desk doing a full search of her desk before turning back to the class.
"Uh... H-has anyone seen the chalk" The class remained silent.
"This is the third time it's gone missing, and..." The class still remained silent.
"Y-you all know I can't start class without some!" For a third time the class was still silent staring at Alphys' desperate struggle. Her face suddenly grew more serious.
"H-how about this? If no one speaks up..." I was partially curious about what Alphys would actually do at this point and yet still no body spoke up.
"E-everyone gets in trouble!" I'm...slightly disappointed at how anti climactic that was and the class still was not giving in to Alphys' commands.
"A...Anyone? P...please?" At this point Alphys looked desperate and as if she was about to give up until a female reindeer monster at the front of the class spoke.
"Hey, there might be a box in the supply closet... Miss Alphys, why don't Susie and I-" Unfortunately for her, her proposition was quickly cut off by Alphys.
"G-good idea, Noelle! Susie, s-since you came in last... Why don't you go get it for me...?" Alphys looked quite relived with herself for dealing with the situation meanwhile this Noelle character was likely not so happy with this. Susie remained silent in the doorway for a couple seconds before speaking again,
"...whatever" she then walked out slowly and slammed the door with as much force as she did when she came in, Alphys then looked over at Kris and me.
"And K... Kris,(y/n)... Can you two go with her and make sure she... Um, actually gets it? And, um, stays out of trouble...? Thanks you two! See you later!" She didn't give us any room to answer but I doubt we had much of a choice to begin with. Kris and I looked at each other and exchanged a nod before getting out of our seats and making our way to the door but as we made our way to the exit, a blue bird-like monster and exclaimed,
"Kris, didn't I SAY being late was a bad idea?"
"Hmm, it's almost as if you should have, as they say...Listened?"
I ignored him completely and so did Kris but I did get a sudden urge to punch that bird, I followed Kris toward the door and I thought that I would follow him as he knows the school better than I do. I just really wish I could tell how he was feeling, considering he was the only human for his entire life here and his everyday is probably similar to this.
I would be lying if I said I didn't want to look out for him, I just don't understand why I want to so badly.
