After arriving at the Recovery Center, Mikhail took a moment to suppress his emotions before entering. While letting out a sigh of relief he pushed open the swinging glass doors and walked inside to see a petite woman sitting behind a desk, intently looking over medical charts.
Focused in her tunnel vision, she didn't notice anyone having come through the doors, let alone Mikhail walking up to the desk.
"Good day to you Ms. Jasmine." he said while placing an elbow atop the desk, then leaning over and resting his chin in the palm of his hand.
Having been slightly startled, she jumped and placed both hands over her heart. After quickly composing herself and recognizing the voice, she looked up with a smile.
"Always so formal, you'll never change. Please Hun just call me Jasmine." she replied while pushing her glasses up from sliding down her button nose.
"Of course, my apologies Jasmine."
"Nothing to apologize for, so what brings you here today?" she giggled.
"Actually Lord Kashif was inquiring on the recovery status of Dai and Osyrus. They'll be required to leave on a mission in a few hours."
Not pleased with what she was hearing, her expression quickly changed, wiping the smile from her face. Jasmine readied her retort but was quickly cut off.
"I know I know, I voiced my concern as well. However this mission is of the utmost importance." he added, trying to subdue what was about to be an obvious rant filled with disapproval.
"Aren't they all?" she scoffed with an eye roll.
He looked at her with both understanding and regret. Each of them knew how high the stakes were and realized the bravery of the men and women who volunteered. They selflessly continued to risk their lives for people they didn't even know, and will likely never meet face to face.
"Ugh, forgive my rudeness" she said. "Well... umm Osyrus is rearing to go, his injuries were minimal, however Dai was hurt pretty bad. If I had to gauge it, I'd say his recovery is at 58% right now."
"Very well, I'll report this information immediately, thank you." he replied graciously with a bow.
"You're welcome hun." - What's going on, they can't possibly be serious about sending them out on another mission so soon? she thought while watching Mikhail make his exit.
