An uneasy calm swept over her as it had been quite some time since she heard any indication of battle. Jasmine, who had been cowering under her desk began to cautiously creep out from hiding to check on her patients.

Both still remained unconscious and undisturbed. Though no one had tried breaking down the door or even coming to her side of the palace, it did not ease her nerves. For her, the worst part has always been the not knowing aspect.

Her mind briefly wandered off, wondering if this was the good calm or the one that eerily comes before the storm. Ironically still on schedule, her timer went off indicating that it was time to get an update on their vitals.

A great distraction from needlessly stressing over a situation she had no control over because in the end, like always, she'd have to wait until she was given word.

After getting good readings on her patients and seeing that their state was actually improving, she decided to take a seat in the chair that was placed between both beds. She then closed her eyes, tilted her head back and took a deep breath.

As she exhaled, faint voices in the distance broke the silence as they continued to grow, seemingly becoming closer and closer from outside. In an attempt to satisfy her nosey nature, she bolted from her seat towards the window to see what the commotion was. Several bodies, both human and demon alike littered the courtyard.

"Okay, I need you and... you over there, take these bodies and start separating them." ordered the resistance worker below who was in charge of directing the cleanup.

The amount of lives lost was heartbreaking. Bodies were scattered and sprawled out, showing in graphic detail, their final moments. She watched the man in charge walk up to the pillar in the courtyard.

"What in the hell, how did this get here?!" he shouted angrily.

Jasmine covered her mouth as she let out a soft giggle, "Oh my, good luck gettin that thing down."

Coming from behind, a weak voice startled her, "What's so funny, I could use a good laugh myself?"

She jumped and spun around to see Cavell slowly inching his way off the bed. Quickly, she made her way to his side and helped him to his feet.

"What is it with you men? Take it easy hun, this war ain't goin nowhere anytime soon."

His expression quickly changed, "Did something happen while I was out?"

A little taken back, she bit her lip, oh crap... he wouldn't know about the invasion since he was out before it started.

Unsure of how to explain, she stalled, "Umm....."

At that very moment a loud series of knocks interrupted their silent conversation, welcoming the interruption, she ran to the door and activated the voice release.

"State the release code, please."

"Echo Victor Echo November." a voice from the other side of the door replied.

The voice release system chimed, "Access granted." as the large bolts on the doors slammed back.

She cracked the door to see Evenharth staring back at her, "Well, are ya gonna let us in?" he asked with a warm smile.

"Oh... oh! I'm sorry, yeah come on in." she replied caught off guard.

The humble nurse stepped aside as they flooded into the room. Right away she noticed the comatose bodies of Cecilee and Thengol, she dashed over to the empty beds and prepped them for her new patients while Chri helped Naitosai to a nearby empty chair.
