With the arrival of Krinx, Tech and his followers, the Garden of Heroes had become the stage where the final battle would play out. Turning the time for mourning into the time of reckoning as our heroes recomposed themselves in the presence of their enemies.
Krinx's voice echoed as he stepped through the rift, "My timing is as good as ever, and to think I almost missed this. It seems like only yesterday we all fought side by side does it not?"
While citizens ran and screamed while creations clawed and hissed at them, the panic had begun to take over. Just then the trusted soldier she had summoned moments ago had made her way over.
Trotting up to her was none other than Iwai, an experienced fighter who had her own history with Krinx that was unbeknownst to the rest of the resistance.
"Iwai, I need you to get to the armory and get our weapons. Take whom ever you need and get back here as soon as possible!"
"Yes Ma'am." "Robert, Vic and David, quick follow me!" she shouted to passing soldiers who were ushering people to safety.
"Yeah it has been awhile hasn't it?" Ni'lerh added while making his appearance.
Cecilee glanced at Chri then to Jasmine, "You wanted to see how empathy worked right?"
Shocked by the question, she nodded and followed her over to Chri. Cecilee looked at him with a comforting smile as she placed her hand over the one he broke after striking Naitosai in the forest.
Jasmine stood speechless as her dear friend's eyes illuminated, becoming completely white. He cringed as she applied pressure to his injured hand. Shortly after, Cecilee quickly jerked away while gripping hers.
He slowly raised his arm just as the aura outlining his hand and wrist faded, however his focus was drawn by Jasmine's startled gasp. Chri glanced over just in time to catch a glimpse of Cecilee's broken fingers snapping back into place.
She looked at Jasmine with a desperate, yet relieved expression on her face as her pupils returned to normal.
"I should have done this sooner and I apologize for the delay, I was so tired earlier and needed to rest."
Chri looked at her with a grin and nodded, "Yeah, you were definitely out of it. Besides my injury was nowhere near as bad as the others."
"That was... simply amazing..." Jasmine whispered.
Cecilee flashed a quick smile then turned and glared at Krinx, it was apparent from just looking at her that this time she was ready.
A confident grin formed on her face. This ends here Koshinto, today we take back what you took from us years ago.
"It's you and me Krinx, the way it was always meant to be!" Curran declared as his power overflowed and seeped from his pupils while making his way towards the enemy, but rather than focusing on the approaching threat, Krinx's attention rested with Thengol.
"Ah the Garden of Heroes, what an appropriate setting for the final battle." Tech stated, making his arrival known as he, Pippy and Soren emerged from the abyss.
"Cecilee and Naitosai, I'd like to play a game. Mikhail is on other side of this rift, to save him all you have to do.." He paused as he slowly turned and looked to his right, "Is get past Krinx."
Infuriated, Naitosai stepped forward glaring at Tech, "You son of a bitch!"
"The name of the game is, 'Time truly is of the essence' Tech declared while shifting his gaze between the two.
Through all of the commotion, Thengol noticed Koshinto trying to restrain himself and redirected his focus to him. I guess you can't bury the past after all, sooner or later you'll have to stop running and face it.
