Adelle's POV
When we get to my house a couple hours later, we are all given a warm welcome. My little brother, Aaden, that I had so many boys with me.
Once we made it inside, the guys all settled into one of the three guestrooms. Due to endless begging to share a room with Louis, Harry and he ended up sharing a room and so did Liam and Zayn. Niall had a room to himself that happened to be right next to mine.
As we finished settling in, waves of delicious smells float up the stairs. I guess my mother and grandmother are cooking. I just hope they cooked enough to feed a mob. So, I decide to go get the guys and tell them it is time to eat. Before I even get around to telling Niall, he charges out of his room, right past me, and runs at lightning speed down the stairs. Nothing could stand between him and food.
Once we were all downstairs, the fun really begins. While we are eating, my brother and Zayn are in a lively conversation about video games. All the while, my dad, Matt, is talking and joking with Niall. I had never seen my dad be this open around people. Everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves.
When dinner is over, we all settle down in the huge entertainment room to watch a Christmas movie. Although it was my year to choose the movie, I told the guys that the could choose it. They get up and walk over to the shelf that hold all of them.
I hear them arguing over the movie they would choose.
Then, Niall comes over holding up a copy of 'The Polar Express'.
He says, "This is the one the guys and I agreed on."
I smile and say, "Good choice."
My mom passes a cup of hot chocolate to everyone. We have some syrups nearby in case someone wanted to add another flavor. I grab the caramel syrup and put it in mine.
As the movie plays, I look around at the boys. Their eyes are glowing from amazement. They are all children in that way. Since I was sitting next to Niall, I lean my head on him. He looks over at me and smiles. Then, he puts his arm around me, allowing me to snuggle even closer to him.
Niall's POV
How is it that having Adelle this close to me still puts butterflies in my stomach? She is snuggled up to me as we watch 'The Polar Express'. At some point, I notice that she starts to shiver, so I grab a blanket from behind me and cover her with it.
Before the movie was even over, the other guys had already went to bed. So had Adelle's family. It was only us left in the entertainment room. Then, I realize she was asleep. So, ever so slightly, so I don't wake her up, I get up. I put a good pillow under her head and make sure the blanket she has is completely over her. I walk over to turn off the movie and the TV. Then, I quietly slip off to my room.
I sit up and think for a while. Adelle was really special to me. I knew just from six months that I wanted to be with her forever. We were meant for that.
The next morning, I slip out the front door quietly. I was going into town to visit the jewelry store that we had passed while entering Adelle's hometown. No one else was up, so no one else could ruin the surprise. After thinking last night, I knew I was ready to take the next step in our relationship.
I arrive at the store and the employees happily greet me and ask how they can help. I tell them I am looking for an engagement ring. They ask me to tell them about the girl. I just tell them that the girl is from this town.
In less than an hour, I had designed the perfect ring. It was a platinum ring with a princess cut diamond in the center and small emeralds around the band. I even had the inside of the ring engraved to say, "I won't give up, because I love you." I asked if it would be ready by the twenty-eighth.
"Why is that sir?" The jeweler asks.
"I am going on a trip with her to where I am from for New Years. I want to propose to her there."
He assures me it will be ready by then. I thank him for his help and leave. I can not wait for Adelle to see that ring.
