Unforgettable

"This is beautiful" Julie eyes widen as she looked down on my ring, it was a beautiful oval cut rose gold diamond ring.

"I know" I beamed as we couldn't stop admiring it.

"So, you're next brother" Francisco smiled as he hugged Santiago tightly "you got the girl".

"You got yours as well, didn't you?" Santiago chuckled.

"I did but your story was epic. I've been hearing from Tom, Ben & William all these years & now I'm the witness" Francisco chuckled.

"Yeah, who would have thought" Julie chuckled as she hugged Francisco from behind.

"He really took you to the airfield?" Francisco looked at me as I nodded "my brother is crazy & stupid in love" he giggled as he looked at Santiago.

"Things I've to do for her" Santiago chuckled as he pulled me closer.

"Yeah, tell me about it from fighting an entire drug war...to taking a bullet & waiting for goddamn how many years & how many goodbyes later, you made it in one piece" Francisco burst out laughing.

"Well keep on laughing, I've to tell the guys the good news" Santiago murmured as he pulled out his phone & began to call the guys. They were far more excited then I was as I could hear their screams & Ben out of everyone was out of control, he nearly broke my ear drums for good. On the other hand my parents were so happy for me especially my mom she went nuts about it, I had to video call her & tell her everything in detail & show her my massive ring. It was like she was the one engaged instead she started planning the wedding, the dress, the reception until my dad had to calm her down.

And then another lady who lost her senses was Santiago's mother, she wanted us to see her asap & she swooned over the ring. We promised her we will pay her a visit asap because she was going to go into a coma out of happiness. I guess that's the happiest everyone has been including me. When I was younger I made bad decisions & it lead me to trouble, never thought I'd be in trouble for partying too much & taking a vacation. Befriending Ronaldo was a bad decision & so was partying with him & following him to Gabriel's, we could have died that very day in the cross fire or lost forever if the guys haven't found us.

They saved us from all sorts of dangers & we became like a family, I never thought I'd fall for someone I barely knew but I did. He was everything I ever wanted & he felt the same for me, he was loyal & honest with me till the end. I never regretted the night we spend together even though we may never see each other again & I never thought anyone would take a bullet for me, it seemed like a real life fairy tale as well as a nightmare.

He told me he wished he could see me again but I never knew how real he felt for me until I met him yet again in the same country that I first saw him. He had been waiting for three long years of his life for an answer or a glance of me, while I lived my life off. I left him on the edge twice & heartbroken but he never let me go & even though how much I tried, I couldn't let him go. I was jealous when I found out about Yovanna not thinking about what I really did in the past, he left her in a blink of an eye for me yet I couldn't tell him how I really felt even when he confessed his love for me & all his actions & deeds showed the world that he cared for me deeply but I was the one who never saw.

Every possible problem & misunderstanding did come in between us but it couldn't keep us apart because what is meant to be will always be, I'm 26 & he's 34 yet everything seem to click age is just a number & that's true. When I came back to colombia for the third time, I didn't know what was ahead of me the only thing I knew was we were together at last & everything was okay but he surprised me by taking me to the airfield, the place where we last saw each other four years ago. I guess the last place we see each other is always around planes because even the second time, I left him at the airport. The way he asked me to marry him, who could have top it off & how could I decline.

I was happy & content at last & so was he, I couldn't thank god enough for giving me someone like him. Someone who loved & cared for me deeply & someone who would do anything to bring a smile on my face. I guess I got lucky in life like they say only few find the epic love of their life & I was one among them, our love was epic from the start & now that we have each other nothing else matters anymore.

"So you ready?" Santiago asked.

"For what?" I chuckled.

"To spend the rest of your life with the guy you met in the most unfortunate event of your life" he looked at me "Yeah, I am" I chuckled.

"Because I never know, you seem to change your mind every second" he chuckled low.

"I've changed for real & it's all because of you" I beamed as I lifted my hand & looked at the ring.

"That's where my money is" he admitted.

"You mean the loot" I looked at him.

"No" he chuckled "it's from my own honest earning & savings for the past 15 years of my life" he told me.

"And that makes the ring more beautiful" I smiled as I hugged him.

"The loot is still with me, I've not used a single dime" he said as he rubbed my back.

"Why?" I asked.

"Because I've none to share it with, back then" he looked at me.

"That brings us back to square one isn't it?" I looked at him "what do you mean?" he furrowed his brows.

"Gabriel" I mentioned as he nodded "you are right, it's blood money...we better do something out of it".

"There are so many good things to do in this world, let's figure out as we go" I smiled.

"You are growing wiser" he beamed as he kissed my head "I'm soon going to marry a smart man, why won't I be" I teased as we walked towards the pool.

"So, where do you want to get married?" He questioned "in Rionegro" I said.

"What? I thought, you never wanted to go back again" he chuckled "well now as everything is back to normal & none of Gabriel nor Ronaldo men are on the hunt anymore...I think it's the best we get married at the place we first met" I said.

"Very Well then" he smiled.

"I love you" I said as he kissed me & as the sun went down on the horizon, I had everything anyone could dream of the epic love of my life.
