Skie paced back and forth nervously in her dorm as Hannah watched.
"Skie, stressing about this is not going to help anything."
"Well, what else can I do? Auditions are tomorrow!"
Hannah smiled. "You're a good actress, Skie. I saw you when you ran through the scenes with Danielle. You're going to be great."
Skie sighed. "Well, thanks for the vote of confidence. So let me get this straight, this play is 1st-3rd forms?"
Hannah nodded. "Yeah. We have this one performed in November, then the lowers have their little musical thing in January, then 4th-7th are in April. Though Mrs. Wheaton doesn't direct that one."
Skie nodded in understanding, then looked at the clock. "Sorry, I've got to run for my meeting with Hazel! Though, to be honest, she'll probably be late anyway."
Hannah laughed. "Sounds like Hazel, she was always late to tutoring."
The two friends shared another laugh as Skie ran out of the room.
~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Hello?" Skie tapped on Hazel's dorm door and waited.
"Come on in!"
Skie entered the room and saw Hazel and Daisy sitting on a bed. Raven was nowhere in sight.
"Hey there, Daisy and I were just catching up real quick. We can head out in a moment."
"Ok. Hi Daisy!" Skie gave the blonde girl a shy smile.
"Hi Skie! Are you ready for auditions tomorrow?" Daisy grinned back.
"Yeah, though I'm a little nervous." Skie confessed.
"That's ok, it's natural to be nervous. Mrs. Wheaton's super nice and patient though."
"What's the play this year? I should sign up for crew." Hazel asked.
"It's called the Marvelous Mystery of Maple Manor." Skie said.
Hazel rolled her eyes. "Sounds thrilling. What's it about?"
"Basically, there's a bunch of people at a hotel including this one famous singer. People start getting stuff stolen from them and then the singer gets poisoned so that she can't sing for the show, but then her secretary is like 'hey, I can sing'. Except then it turns out she was the one stealing everything because she was jealous of the singer." Daisy explained.
"Yeah, that sounds like a Wheaton show. I did one that was The Mixed-Up Mystery of the Missing Grandmother, and let me tell you, it is possible to put too many fairy tales in one show."
Daisy smirked. "I remember that...Grandma."
Hazel rolled her eyes. "Don't even start with me, Rapunzel."
Skie just laughed.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"You ready?"
Skie smiled nervously at Danielle. "Sort of. I'm glad you and Izzy are here."
Danielle smiled. "Acting is great. I wish Hannah did it, but at least she's going to be stage crew."
Skie was about to reply but someone came up behind her.
"Well, well, well. Matthews is going to audition."
Danielle rolled her eyes. "Good lord Madi, this isn't the wild west."
Skie turned around. "What do you want?"
"I want to tell you to get out."
Skie raised an eyebrow. "And why should I?"
"Because everyone knows...or rather, is going to know, that you aren't a very good actress, aren't they?"
Skie felt her face grow hot. She quickly turned and marched out of the room.
Madi smirked as she left. "Aww, is widdle baby Skie gonna go cry?"
Danielle pushed past Madi and followed Skie into the hall.
"Hey, Skie, are you ok?"
Skie took a few deep breaths. "Not really."
Danielle sat down and Skie joined her. "Yeah, dumb question, I know. Does this have to do with, um, whatever happened?"
Skie sighed. "Yeah, it does."
Danielle stared at the floor for a few seconds and then started talking. "Well, you have two options. You can either let her get to you, go back to your dorm, and not audition. Or you can go show her up. What do you think."
Skie looked at her friend and slowly began to smile. "I think... it's time I show that little biatch who's boss."
"Now that's the spirit."

"You two did so good!" Daisy grinned at Skie and Danielle.
"Thanks, so did you!" Skie grinned back at the older girl she was beginning to see as a friend.
Danielle grinned. "You were seriously amazing Skie, I bet you get a lead."
Daisy smiled. "Cast list comes out tomorrow. You gonna be there?"
Skie grinned. "Try and stop me."
