The four girls sat down with their bowls of pasta.
"Now this looks really good. I'm super hungry." Izzy grinned.
Skie grinned back and dug into her bowl. It tasted amazing.
"Why hello there, ladies."
The girls looked up to see Hazel standing by them.
"Hi Hazel!" Hannah grinned, and the other 3 echoed her.
"How goes the first day?" Hazel swept her eyes over all of them, but lingered on Skie.
Raven sent her. Skie thought to herself. Out loud, she said, "It's been great so far."
Hannah coughed. "Actually, Mrs. Daniels..."
Skie cut her off. "Was really nice. Just like all the teachers."
A fleeting look of suspicion crossed Hazel's face, but it disappeared almost immediately. "That's good to hear," she said smoothly.
"Ay, Hazel, are you gonna join us?" A tall blonde girl and a slightly shorter, darker haired girl came up to the head girl.
Hazel smiled. "Sure. Just checking in on Skie here. Skie, this is Daisy and Lilian. Girls, this is Raven's younger sister."
"Hi, Skie." Daisy smiled at her.
"Hello." Skie suddenly felt a little shy.
"What form are you?" Lilian asked gently.
"Upper First."
Lil smiled. "Cool, we're seconds. Nice to meet you. Z, we'd better get going. Lia is saving us a spot."
"Right. See you girls later."
As Hazel walked away, Skie could hear her saying "And DON'T call me, Z, Lion."

Skie walked into her seventh and final class of the day with Danielle. Instead of choosing painting like Hannah or sculpture like Izzy, Skie had decided to take the drama elective.
"Welcome, girls. What are your names?"
"Danielle, ma'am."
"Skie, ma'am."
The teacher smiled. "Relax girls, I'm not very strict on formalities. My name is Mrs. Wheaton. I hope you're ready for some fun with acting."
Skie smiled widely. Mrs. Wheaton seemed very nice.
"Skylar and Dani. Excellent."
Skie groaned. "What do you want, Madi?"
Maddison smiled sweetly. "To welcome you to drama class, of course."
Skie brushed past her. "Yeah, you'd know all about drama, wouldn't you."
Maddison glared at the back of her head.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Skie flopped down on her bed. "So tired."
Hannah dropped her backpack on her own bed. "Yeah, seriously."
Skie pushed herself up on her elbows. "Now what?"
Hannah shrugged. "Well, this is when sports practice and clubs meet. If you aren't in those, which no one is yet, signups haven't started, you can hang out with friends in the quad or do homework until dinner."
Skie pushed herself off the bed and went over to her desk. "I don't have much homework, I think I'll just do that now."
Hannah smiled. "Ok, I'm gonna go down to see if there's a practice room open and practice my violin for a while. See ya."
Hannah left the room as Skie pulled out her history worksheet and began answering questions.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Skie looked up as a knock sounded on the door.
"Who is it?"
"It's your sister."
Skie rolled her eyes, but went over and opened the door. "What's up?"
Raven rolled her eyes a little. "Just seeing how you're doing."
Skie sighed. "I'm doing homework. Go away."
Raven glared. "Mom asked."
Skie sighed again, louder. "I'm doing fine. I've made great friends and everything is peachy keen."
Raven rolled her eyes. "Great. Bye."
Skie closed her eyes for a moment as her sister turned away. "Ray, wait, I didn't mean it like that."
Raven turned around, and her face softened. "Yeah, I know. Rough day?"
Skie shrugged. "A little. Did you ever do anything to piss off Mrs. Daniels?"
Raven looked thoughtful. "Not intentionally. Why?"
Skie chewed her lip thoughtfully. "I don't know, she just treated me really weird. I wonder if she knows..."
Raven glared "That's stupid if she treats you weird cause of that. Tell me if anything else happens."
Skie nodded. "Ray...thanks."
Raven smiled and pulled her little sister into a hug. "Now go do homework, brat."
Skie rolled her eyes and smiled as she went back into her dorm.

Skie lay on her bed, staring at the ceiling.
"Skie, I'm gonna turn off the lights, k?"
"Ok." Skie pulled the blanket up higher around herself as Hannah flicked the switch and plunged the room into darkness.
"Why didn't you tell Hazel about Mrs. Daniels?" Hannah asked as she climbed into her own bed.
"I don't know. It didn't really seem like a big thing. And like I said, it's probably because of something Raven did." Skie lied.
Hannah sighed softly. "Ok, but if she keeps treating you weird, you'd better tell Hazel."
Skie smiled to herself grimly. "Right. I will."
Hannah rolled over onto her side. "Goodnight, Skie."
"Night, Hannah."
Skie closed her eyes and fell asleep easily, because at least she had survived her first day at the academy.
AN: So Skie survived the first day without too much trouble, now the plot can progress a bit faster lol.
