Traitors. Imposters. Intruders. Those were the words that were going through Shadow's head as he was carried away by the two invisible dragons. They should know what crime they are committing. They are taking away the ultimate being.
Shadow started to smile after imagining what the other dragons would do to these intruders when they found out. He imagined them getting torn to tiny little pieces, their scales covered in scorched skin and their wings all scratched and deformed. It brought a smile to his face.
But instead, the other dragons were nowhere to be found. And one of the intruders was smart. They were clasping his mouth shut. They probably knew his power. They knew they were committing a serious crime by taking him. The thing was, why did they do it? Because they were criminals. That's why.
Soon, the bioluminescent pillars started to fade from view. Shadow looked ahead and saw that the intruders were heading towards a giant waterfall. Around the waterfall were sections of small caves. One of those caves was lit by a red glow.
"Where are we?" one of the intruders asked, "Looks spooky."
"I think Dad called this place the Black Waters," another intruder guessed.
"What's its purpose?" the first intruder asked.
"I dunno," the second intruder said, "Dad never got around to telling me."
Shadow didn't care about what the intruders were saying. All he knew was that these were kidnappers. And by the looks of this place, they were rogue dragons. These two dragons were taking Shadow to banishment, possibly to kill him. This was no kidnapping. It was a murder mission.
The intruders started to go towards one cave that was shrouded and hidden in dangling vines. As the intruders neared the cave, Shadow started to struggle and wiggle out of their grasp. But their grip was too tight. They adjusted every time Shadow had tried to struggle. Geez, these criminals were too smart.
The intruders dropped him at the base of the cave. One intruder stepped off his mouth. Finally. But as he went to open it, the first intruder ran over and smashed it down on the hard floor. Dang it. So close.
"I'll go in and see if he's there," the second intruder said to the first.
"Okay," the first intruder responded, "I'll stay here."
"You know, you don't have to shut his mouth anymore," the second intruder added as he disappeared into the vines, "We're too far away for those dragons to hear him."
Oh really? Shadow hissed in his head, If your friend gets her paws off of me, I'll show you how loud I can roar!
"Nah," the first intruder said, "He can still blast us and run when he gets the chance."
Dang it! Once again, these fools were one step ahead of him. There was no way Shadow was going to get out of this. But he must.
The second intruder disappeared into the reeds. After a few minutes, he poked his head out of the vines.
"Fawn needs to investigate Shadow's behavior," the second intruder explained to the first.
"Can't you just tell him which dragon stabbed him?" the first intruder asked.
"I tried," the second intruder growled, "But I don't think I gave him a good description."
"Ugh, fine," the first intruder grumbled, "But this is the last time I am dragging my deranged brother around."
Stabbed? Brother? What were these intruders talking about? And how did they know Shadow's name? Was that white dragon that Shadow was flirting with earlier betraying him? Shadow had so many questions floating through his head that he didn't even care that the first intruder dragged him through the vines of the cave.
