Getting the Band Back Together

Chapter 1 (Mary's POV) The Promise

(Mary's POV)

:last call for flight 240 to London:

I turned and looked at my Mom. "Well, it's time for us to go"

"You guys be safe. Don't talk to strange looking people. Call me every night. Call me as soon as you get there and-"

"Mom, we have to go." I gave her one last hug and told her I loved her. Then we were off.

As we loaded our things on to the security scanner belt, I started realizing that our dream was coming true. My life dream was about to be accomplished with my two best friends.

(FIVE YEARS EARLIER)

Me: Lauren, meet Brandi. Brandi, this is my awesome cousin Lauren.

Lauren: hi

Brandi: hey

Me: Lauren's staying for the week before school starts.

Brandi: Awesome, maybe we could hang out together.

Lauren: That'd be cool.

And from then on we had been a trio. Brandi became my neighbor when i moved to Killeen, TX. I was about twelve when I met her, but we didn't become friends till I was thirteen. Lauren and I had known each other our whole lives, but I had moved away when I was younger so we lost touch. We became friends again when I moved to Killeen since she lived in Austin, TX which was only forty-five minutes away. In the summer of 2012, when I was fourteen, Lauren came over and I introduced her to Brandi. They hit it off immediately and we'd all been friends ever since. Even though Lauren was 2 years older than me and I was a year older than Brandi, we still managed to always stick together and help each other out.

This year, Brandi had turned eighteen and just graduated from high school. This meant that it was time to fulfill The Promise.

(FOUR YEARS AGO)

Me: I promise that we will always be friends and we will travel the world together.

Lauren: Yes, as soon as Brandi is eighteen we can go anywhere we want and we will do it together.

Brandi: Okay, so summer of 2017 we will travel across all of Europe before we have to settle down and go back to school.

Me and Lauren: Definitely!

I remember it like it was yesterday. I was fifteen when we made that promise, and now we were fulfilling it.

"miss....miss you need to go."

I snapped back to the present and realized I was holding up the line. As I collected my things, the girls gave me a worried look.

"What happened back there?" Lauren asked peculiarly.

"Just day dreaming"

"About what?" Brandi asked,

"About the past. Remember the day we promised each other that we would do this one day?"

"Of course we do. That was the happiest and saddest day of our lives."

Oh ya, how could I have forgotten about that. Maybe I just didn't want to remember. Maybe I just pushed it out of my mind so I wouldn't have to think about it. That day was the day that we realized we would be friends forever, but it was also the day that One Direction, our favorite band in the entire world, split up. It tore us apart. The boys, as we came to call them, had been famous for about three years and had just finished their second world tour. We had gone to one of their concerts that last year. We were completely in love with them. They were everything to us. We all thought it was strange, we had never met them, but we cared so much about them-about their health and safety, and how each one of their lives were going. We saw them as individuals, not just as a band.

(FOUR YEARS AGO)

Lauren: the boys are on t.v. Listen.

(broadcasters voice) Today we regret to tell you that the heart throb band One Direction has announced their break up. They say that all the haters and crazed fans were just too hard to handle. They want to send one last video diary to their fans, here it is-

Liam: hello guys, (his voice sounded shaky and he didn't seem like his normal dorky happy self) we wanted to say to all the fans that we are so sorry for all this and we know it is sudden. We love our jobs, but our families and close friends have been receiving hate and what not and we cannot stand by and let that happen.

Louis: We hate having to do this, but family and friends are more important to us than money and fame.

Harry: We have all agreed to what we are doing and think it is the right thing to do at the moment. Who knows what the future holds, but this is what we need to do right now.

Zayn: We will miss you all and we hope that you will never forget us. None of us will be doing any solo acts so those rumors are not true. Do you have anything you want to add, Niall?

Nail: I just wanted to say that...that...(he had tears in his eyes and could hardly get any words out) that we love you all and thank you for this opportunity. We never take any of this for granted but we can not sit back and watch our friends and family suffer just for the sake of our fame. So this is goodbye for now

Goodbye( they all said at the same time and gave last minute teary eyed smiles)

That was why it was the best...and worst day of our lives. We missed the boys a lot. They had also deleted their twitters so all we had left were our posters and old video diaries on YouTube. This was the reason that our first stop during our European tour was in London. We planned on going to all of their home towns during the week, then traveling to Ireland next to see Niall's. We still loved them inside. They were one of the main reasons me and Lauren became so close with Brandi and they brought us together. We would always be thankful to them for that.
