The cold October air blows onto my face. Or is it the snow blizzard of the freezer? It's door #2

Genni brushes back her long, curly black hair and pulls down her Pokemon hat farther down her neck.

She bats her green eyes at me and shivers.

Hauling the ice block out of the freezer, I help her carry it to her corner.

We brought in a fuzzy and warm stool, a carving set, and some melting tools to make the place cozy.

Her ice sculpture was on the News last night. She accidentally left the door open, and the News found the corner and its ice sculptures.

Genni hands me her favorite knife.

I clasp it tight in my mitten. "Really?" She nods.

I glide my knife through the melting ice. I create a head, a body, and fat arms and legs.

Genni claps. "Wonderful!" She claims, rubbing my back in our embrace.

"Your wonderful," I tell her.

"Where've you been?" Alex signs.

"Lunch," I sign back.

"No, you've missed our meeting for q whole week." He says, aloud this time.

"Sorry!" I yell. I'm so angry at myself for forgetting.

He smiles. "Yell. Again."

"ILOVEYOU!" I yell.

He starts to laugh.

"I can hear you!" He stands up, smiling and laughing and dancing.

"It's so beautiful!" He sings. "What did you say?"

I blush. I don't know why I admitted my secret to him.

He deserves to know.

"I. Love. You...?" I mutter slowly.

He laughs.

Oh.

No.

"I'm kidding. I know stupid." I write quickly.

"No, not stupid," he writes back.

I smile at him.

He smiles at me.

We both touch...
