"Seokjin?" I heard a muffled voice as soon as I pushed the door shut behind me. 'Is that you?'
The small apartment reeked of cigarettes and alcohol, my nose immediately scrunching up in disgust. I should be used to the stench of my home by now, but every single time I entered I was always surprised by how awful and unclean it was.
I mumbled a yes to my housemate who was sprawled on the beat sofa lazily, his eyes half closed and a bottle in his left hand.
I stared at the state of our apartment, sighing heavily as I shuffled off the leather jacket that hung on my shoulders.
'Can't you ever clean up around here, Suga?' I huffed angrily as I picked up empty bottles that were scattered around him.
Suga ruffled his mint green hair with a hand. 'What? You get to go out all day and all night but I have to stay at home and clean?' He scoffed. 'Fat chance.'
'I think you're forgetting that I'm paying for more than half of the rent.' I stared at him as he propped himself on his elbows and stared back at me.
He cocked his head, taking another swing of his drink before speaking. 'Are you threatening me?'
My shoulders dropped. 'No,' I sighed. 'It would just help if our living space was cleaner. It might actually feel like a home.'
Suga chuckled sarcastically. 'There's no home for two people like us.'
I nod slowly, agreeing with my friend.
Suga tugged at his lip piercing with his teeth. 'Why'd you come back so late anyway?'
I raised my brows, suddenly remembering the girl from the convenient store.
I shrugged a shoulder, brushing her from my mind. 'I was at the bar, got bored then walked around for a while.'
Suga's eyes lit up, his body leaning forwards. 'Did you meet anyone?'
I tilted my head.
He rolled his dark eyes, clicking his tongue. 'A girl. Did you meet a girl at the bar?'
Not at the bar, I thought.
I shook my head, turning my back to him as I picked up a few cigarettes from the ground, groaning when I saw that one had singed the carpet.
Suga smiled sheepishly, razing his shoulders. 'Sorry?'
I scoffed, standing up and brushing off my black jeans.
I stared at the crooked clock on the wall. 'It's nearly three in the morning.' I said to Suga without facing him. 'I'll take your rubbish out and then I'm going to bed.'
I held the few bags that I filled with empty bottles and other trash the Suga had left and opened the door, making my way down the stairs and to the back of our apartment where the bins were.
The stench here was even worse than it was in our room. A smell so foul that it burned my nostrils. I held my breath as I shoved the bags into the bins, dusting my hands off before turning my back.
'Yes, mum, I made it home safe.' I heard a females voice say quietly followed by footsteps and the sound of keys jingling. 'Yes, mum. Yes, yes, okay, yes. Okay, go to bed now, it's three. Okay, I love you. Bye.'
I learned over the railing of the stairs, trying to get a look at who the girl was. I had never seen her here before.
It was hard to tell what she looked like in the dark.
I shrugged, making my way up the stairs and back to my unit until I realised that she had followed me up the stairs.
I glanced over my shoulder, her head was hung low and she held her keys in her hand tightly. Something about her clothes was vaguely familiar, though. As if I had seen them before.
I reached my room, digging into my pockets for my keys. I patted my jeans, trying to feel where they were until I felt nothing.
I cussed, rattling the door handle after I realised that I had locked my self out of my apartment.
I banged my fist on the door, the numbers 92 that indicated out room swinging slightly. 'Suga! Open the door!' I yelled to my roommate, hoping he would hurry it up.
The females apartment was opposite to mine, she looked over her shoulder at me before stepping closer.
'Are you okay?' She asked quietly.
I turned around, recognising immediately who she was.
I scoffed, cocking a brow. 'What, are you following me now?'
