✵
Taehyung let out a sigh that looked like he had been holding it for a while. He shook his head once, raising his brows once.
'I don't know what to say,' he covered his face with his large hand. 'You know what Yoongi is like.'
Yoongi.
It was the first time either of them had used his birth name in years.
Neither Sofia nor I could meet Taehyungs eyes, from embarrassment and guilt. The night between Sophia and I had been forgotten. Well, almost. We still hadn't spoken about it or what it meant, I wanted to avoid it as much as I could, however having just explained to Taehyung what went on, leaving out that tiny detail made the tension between Sophia and I thicken.
She shuffled away from me, trying not to make it obvious. I gave her a quick glance, noticing her blushing cheeks and there was no doubt that my face wasn't as red as hers.
'Do you have any idea where he could be?' Taehyung looked at me, his eyes focusing on my face.
I looked down, shaking my head, letting a small, 'no,' fall out of my lips.
Taehyung breathed out, raking a hand through his already disheveled hair. He nodded once, hands on his knees before he stood up. 'Alright,' he exhaled deeply, 'lets go.'
Sophia pushes her self up from her seat beside me, staring up at Taehyung. 'Go where?'
Taehyung's glance wavered over me. 'To find my best friend.'✵
'Could he be with Jimin?' Taehyungs eyes met mine through the rear view mirror before he stared back at the road before him.
Silence.
'Have you even spoken to Jimin?' He then asked, looking back at me.
I leaned my hand against the cool glass, shutting my eyes.
'Seokjin,' He pressed.
'No,' I rasped, feeling my throat tighten.
Taehyung pulled over on the side of the road before he turned in his seat to face me.
Sophia glanced between the both of us. 'What's going on?'
Her question went unanswered.
'You haven't spoken to him since...?' Taehyungs eyes scanned my face, sadness evident in his eyes.
I shut my eyes, forcing back the tears that threatened to spill out.
'No, I have. I just haven't seen him.' I let out a shaky breath, explaining to him. 'I message him every once in a while, maybe every few months.' I felt my chest tighten, like a rope was being tied around my rib cage and was encasing encasing my lungs. 'Yoongi visits him, I haven't. Not since the accident. Every time I look at his face, I'm always reminded of what happened, what could have happened. And there's not a day that goes by that I don't hate myself for what happened that day.'
Without my intention, hot tears fell from my eyes, streaking down my cheeks.
'I haven't seen him see the day before he got out.'
Taehyung hung his head low, as if he was trying to stop himself from letting out his own tears.
'Taehyung, I'm sorry.' I crossed out, my voice breaking.
'Get out of the car,' was all he said.
'What-'
'Get out.' He repeated sternly.
'Taehyung!' Sophia fought, raising her voice slightly.
'It's fine,' I mumbled to her as I let myself out of the car, not sparing either of them a glance.
Taehyung followed me out of the car, he stood before me, teary eyes strained on my face.
He took two quick strides towards me.
I shut my eyes, bracing myself for his punch, kick, shove or anything.
But instead, Taehyung wrapped his arms firmly around my shoulders, bringing my body closer to his as he embraced me.
'I'm sorry, Seokjin.' He cried. 'I'm so sorry.'-
