Chapter 3

MAE: Do I look good?

     Tanong ni Mae kay Jace habang nakaharap sa salamin. Nasa bahay sila ngayon ni Mae. Sinundo siya ni Jace. Ngayon na kasi ang blind date niya. She's still getting ready ng dumating si Jace. Nakaupo si Jace sa kama ni Mae at tumitingin ng magazines..

JACE: Hmmm.. it looks fine.

MAE: Eh hindi ka naman tumingin eh. 

      Binaba ni Jace ang binabasang magazine sa side table at tumingin sa kanya..

    Mae is wearing a black off shoulder, above the knee lacy dress na tinernohan niya ng black stiletto and a zebra printed pouch. She's not into fashion and its not the type of clothes she really wear but she needs to be beautiful at least tonight. She put on some light make up and some silver earings and necklace.

JACE: Did you even sleep??

MAE: You did not answer my question. I swear, i tried but every time na maisip ko yung blind date i got excited and started imagining things and next thing i knew the sun is up.

JACE: Your crazy. Dont expect too much, ok. And, your wearing heels?? Carry mo?

MAE: Your not a motivator, you know. And yes. Just for this night. I wanna look good in front of my date.

JACE: Alright. lets go then. 7 pm ang usapan.

MAE: Tara.

     Ilang sandali pa ay sakay na sila ng kotse ni Jace at papunta na nga ng restaurant kung saan ang venue.

      Sa may parking lot ay pinayuhan muna siya ni Jace at binigyan ng instructions bago pinatuloy sa loob. It was a steak restaurant so its kinda pricey. but thats not the issue..

MAE: Hindi na ko bata para lecturan mo no.

JACE: Makinig ka na lang ok? So, here's the arrangement.. you have 5 dates tonight-

MAE: 5??? Thats a lot.

JACE: Listen first. each date has each table and time ok, so just give me a call and i'll let you know what table it is. clear?

MAE: Yup! Thanks. pinapa-impress mo talaga ako bestfriend. Wish me luck. Bye.

JACE: Good luck.

    Yun lamang at iniwan na niya si Jace at pumasok na sa loob ng restaurant. Ayon sa instruction ni Jace, ang first table should be on the right corner. And there it is. Nilapitan niya ang lalakeng nakaupo na duon.

MAE: Hi.

ERIC: Oh, hi Mae. Have a seat.

MAE: Thanks. You know me already?

ERIC: Not really. I mean, by face yeah. Jace gave me some photos of you. Anyway, would you like something to eat?

MAE: Ohh. ahh, no. Im not hungry yet. But drinks will do.

ERIC: Alright.

     Pagkalapit naman ng waiter ay umorder na si Eric.

MAE: Hmm. He's kinda cute...and he looks decent.

ERIC: So, where will we start?

MAE: Perhaps your name?

ERIC: Oh yeah. Im sorry. Im Eric Medina. Im 28 years old. A pisces. Im a pharmacist. I currently work at a drugstore. I love spicy foods. I love to spend my time reading books. Im a bookworm actually. My parents died already, so you dont have parents in law in case we get married. but i have  2 brothers, both younger than me. the youngest actually just graduated from college. same course as mine. The other one, he already has family, and wasn't able to finish college. I dont know whats wrong with him, he's so stuborn. You know what, he doesn't even listen to  me. He hates listening to anyone. He just do whatever he wants. And his wife...i dont even know where she's from. She's still a student and then they already have a kid. How are they gonna support that child? Oh gods heavens. And the parents of that girl, they keep nagging me that its like, its my fault their daughter got pregnant early. Tell me, is it my fault??? God!
