jungwoo sat on the floor of his bedroom with a pen in one hand and a piece of paper in the other. he took the cap from the pen and put the paper on a flat surface.
his hands were shaky as he formed the letters. this was lucas' idea, and he trusted him. he felt anxiety growing in his stomach, crawling up into his chest. he took a deep breath before writing.
'hi mom.
i like boys AND girls
love from your son, jungwoo"
he rubbed his eyes from being tired, and stood up slowly. he was about to to come out to his mom, right here, right now. his legs were unsteady as he stabilised himself on his bed.
he folded the note, and grabbed a sticker to seal it before pushing his door open.
his feel shuffled along the floor to his mom's room. his heart beat faster as he held the door handle, turning it.
and there he saw his mom, asleep. he sighed sadly, but smiled when he saw her finally getting rest. she hadnt slept in a few days.
he walked over to her, placing the letter next to her bedside table. he kissed her pale face softly.
pale
why was she so pale, jungwoo wondered. he felt her face. it was cold. too cold.
panic struck apon him and he bit his lip.
"momma?" he whispered, shaking her shoulder lightly. no response. he shook her again, harder, though. again, no response.
maybe she's just in a really deep sleep.
"d-doyoung, mommy isnt waking up.." jungwoo said into the phone, voice shaky as he sat on the floor.
"what!? i-uh.. okay jungwoo, dont panic, i'll call an ambulance," doyoung said, his voice worried, "i'll be there in a bit."
"c-can you stay h-here with me?"
"yes, i wont end the call. is she moving at all?"
"n-no.. no movement.."
-
jungwoo watched as the unknown faces crowded around his mom. everything he saw was cloudy. nothing was clear. his emotions were too overwhelming and he didnt know how to react to this situation.
"d-doyoungie!" jungwoo yelled, running to doyoung who was stood at the door. he hugged him tightly, letting tears leak onto his grey hoodie.
"shh.. its okay.. these people will take care of her.." he comforted, watching the worried faces of the doctors. he wasnt sure.
"we need to take her to the hospital, okay?" one of the men informed doyoung, "one of you need to come."
doyoung volunteered himself. jungwoo looked up at him sadly.
"it would be better for you to stay here, i dont want you to be there. i'll update you."
"i dont wanna be alone.." jungwoo pouted, and doyoung sighed.
"ill call lucas."
-
"m-my mommy is in hospital, lucas," jungwoo cried, head resting on the younger boy's shoulder. lucas ran jungwoo's hair through his fingers, trying to calm him.
"he's going to be okay.. shhh.." lucas whispered, laying jungwoo down, "you have to be patient, okay?"
"b-but.. what if she.. d-dies.."
lucas shook his head quickly, "dont say that, woo.. here, try and get some rest."
lucas rested jungwoo's head in his lap, supported by a pillow. jungwoo's body curled up like a cat.
"go to sleep.." lucas cooed, rubbing the ends of jungwoo's hair. he did that to his cousins when they needed to go to sleep. he thought that would work on jungwoo too.
"l-lucas i cant sleep.."
lucas nodded. he understood. he knew it was hard.
"just lay here and relax.. try to think positively."
tears spilled from jungwoo's eyes as he burried his face into the pillow.
lucas let him cry. he needed it.
-
