"hey jungwoo, are you awake?" lucas asked the boy who was curled up in many blankets. his forehead was warm and he was sweating.

jungwoo nodded, opening his eyes and staring up at lucas who was stood at the end of his bed.

"you're too warm, we need to take some of these blankets off you.." lucas told him, pulling the covers off his body but leaving one, "are you hungry? its almost 1pm."

jungwoo shook his head, rolling over and closing his eyes again. lucas sighed, and went to sit next to him.

"you need to eat," lucas said, removing the strands of hair that were stuck to jungwoo's face, "i could make you some toast?"

jungwoo sighed, then nodded, using most of his strength to sit up.

"wanna come downstairs?" lucas asked, rubbing his knee. jungwoo nodded, and lucas passed him a hair tie, "put your hair up, it will keep it out of your face."

-

~A FEW DAYS LATER~

"we should go out today," jungwoo suggested. lucas' eyes widened, but he didnt complain. they hadnt left the house in almost a week, "can we go to a park? i want to feed some ducks. me and mommy used to do that all the time."

lucas smiled, and finished his coffee, "wanna go now?"

jungwoo nodded, "i think fresh air will make me feel a little better."

"i agree," lucas nodded, standing up. the older did the same.

-

lucas and jungwoo walked down the path near the river. jungwoo carried a bag of birdseed in one hand, and lucas' hand in his other.

jungwoo threw the food to the ducks. joy spread across his face as he watched the birds eat. lucas watched him, not letting go of his hand as he got closer to the river.

"be careful, if you fall in im not jumping in after you," lucas teased, "i cant swim."

jungwoo pouted with a small giggle as he threw the last of the birdseed, stuffing the bag into his coat pocket.

"wanna get an ice-cream?" lucas asked the boy, who nodded excitedly.

jungwoo ran up to the ice cream van with a few coins in his hands.

"can i have a pink one?"

"a strawberry ice cream?" the woman serving icecreams asked. jungwoo nodded as lucas finally caught up with him.

"lulu, do you want one?"

"no, im fine," lucas smiled, his heart melting at the name he called him.

"there you go, enjoy your day!"

jungwoo thanked the lady as he took his ice cream.

"taste good?" lucas asked, taking jungwoo's hand back. jungwoo nodded, getting ice cream on his nose. lucas giggled, wiping it for him.

the two walked in silence, as jungwoo licked his ice cream. they sat down on a bench next to a lady and her baby.

jungwoo laid his head onto the younger's shoulder and sighed,  playing with his hands.

"do you mind?" the lady asked, moving away from the two boys.

"huh?" lucas replied, not letting go of jungwoo's hand.

"i have a kid here, do you two mind doing that somewhere else?" she sighed, packing her things up and standing, "people like you are earths scum. you're both going to hell."

lucas couldnt believe what he heard. he was speachless, "pardon?"

"you heard me, f*ggots"

jungwoo buried his head into lucas' chest. lucas took a deep breath before holding jungwoo's head close.

"what does that word mean, lu?"

"it means- its a really bad word." lucas told him. jungwoo frowned.

"why did she call us that?" he asked, gripping lucas' shirt."

"i dont know.. come on, lets go home." lucas lied. he didnt want to hurt jungwoo anymore and tell him that two boys in love was a bad thing.

-

"wait! lucas!" jungwoo calld to lucas, who was walking infront of him. jungwoo was crouched down on the floor on the edge of the path.

"whats up?" lucas asked, walking back to him. jungwoo was examining something on the ground.

"theres a puppy..." jungwoo frowned, picking up the crying dog.

lucas looked down at the dog in his hands, shocked. it was shivering and wet, covered in mud.

"we need to take him home, lucas!" jungwoo wailed, holding the dog close to give him some kind of warmth. lucas bit his lip, thinking.

"we dont have anywhere to put him woo..." he said sadly.

jungwoo's eyes teared up, which made lucas' heart break, "he'll d-die out here!"

lucas took a deep breath before nodding. "alright, we can take him."

jungwoo hopped up with the puppy, taking his coat off to wrap the dog in it.

"no, use my coat," lucas told him, taking his coat off and putting jungwoo's back on him.

jungwoo smiled, wrapping the dog and cradling it like a baby. "he's so cold! we need to get home quick!"

-

the boys sat in the bath, with the puppy in a small tub. lucas rinsed the dirt and mud off him with warm water. jungwoo jumped out to get a towel and helped lucas dry him.

"do you wanna stay here with him while i go to buy food?" lucas asked as they brought the dog into jungwoo's bedroom. he nodded as lucas put his shoes on.

"i'll be back as quick as i can," lucas told him, ruffling the boy's hair.

-

jungwoo sat with the puppy crawling around in his lap. he giggled softly when it jumped up to his chest, licking his chin. he stroked the dog's head softly with his thumb, sending it off to sleep.

jungwoo smiled widely, closing his eyes too.

-

lucas opened the door, throwing his car keys onto the table and taking his coat off before running back up to see jungwoo.

he smiled when he saw him and the dog asleep in peace. the dog's eyes opened quickly as he heard the noise of the bag. jungwoo woke up as the dog jumped across his stomach.

lucas smiled at jungwoo as he twisted around.

"do you have toys?!" jungwoo asked eagerly.

"yes, quite alot." lucas laughed, passing jungwoo a bone toy. the dog wrapped its mouth around the toy and jungwoo played tug of war with it.

"we need to name him, lulu!" jungwoo noticed.

"we need it to have a meaning, though."

"i'll think about it.."
