jungwoo woke up, his eyes puffy. his face felt hot and he felt hungover. he didnt drink last night, right?
he looked around at his surroundings. he was in his bedroom. good.
he looked to his side. he was alone. good
he coughed. his voice felt raspy. he attempted to speak but all that came out was a small squeaking noise.
he shut his eyes, holding his head in his arms.

"mom, why do i feel so weird?" he wrote on a post it- note.
she looked up at the boy stood next to her bed. she tried to focus on the paper, but couldnt.
rolling over to turn her light on, she took the note from her son.
jungwoo felt a tear leak from his eye. why was he crying?
"hey, are you okay? its 3am." his mom looked up, grasping onto his wrist.
jungwoo shook his head, pointing at his throat. mom pulled him down into bed next to her, holding him close and under the blanket.
"thats what the noise was.." she said, resting her head next to her son's, "you were coughing alot, you must've lost your voice."
but jungwoo was already asleep, tears laying on his cheeks as he breathed softly.

"i still feel weird," jungwoo managed to get out. it was later in the day now and jungwoo just wanted to sleep.
"you can go to bed early if you'd like, i dont mind," mom smiled, patting jungwoo's thigh.
"sure?"
his mom nodded, and jungwoo smiled back. "i love you." he told her, hugging her tightly.
"i love you too, jungwoo."
